Songs of Innocence and of Experience: William Blake's Illuminated Book

One of the treasures of world literature and masterpieces of English lyric poetry, written and illustrated by the British engraver, painter, and poet William Blake (1757-1827).
Generally neglected during his lifetime and even regarded mad by contemporaries for his idiosyncratic views, Blake is now considered the earliest and most original of the Romantic Age artists.
“Songs of Innocence”: published in 1789, the first demonstration of Blake's Illuminated Books.
“Songs of Innocence and of Experience”: published in 1794, a rearranged version of Songs of Innocence with the addition of Songs of Experience.
