Compromises? Yes, but ...
When it comes to user interface, comparing this to native Apple Music app shows a clear winner. Clever solutions in navigation and gestures are really standing out and making this really appealing to use. Some things are missing, though - as much as I get intention to keep you in touch with new and hot releases, I miss the option to choose a genre where these news comes from. I’m not really a mainstream listener, and I know that Apple Music actually offers possibility to dig through genres and see new releases from sphere you actually like. App also tends to show so much of graphical elements (ie album covers, playlist covers) that it’s kinda slow and lagging from time to time. I have an iPhone X and it’s nothing dramatic, but it’s definitely visible. Lyrics are another thing I didn’t realize I miss. All in all, I still prefer this to the native app. And I guess you will, too.
