Uses recently on a trip to France. Scanned the ingredients for pesto sauce. Couldn’t find the nuts until the fourth tin it scanned. Took several attempts. Which a surprising because it usually catches it on the first scan. I wish it would use the macro lens. Everything is just too small on the normal lens when trying to scan super tiny text on a package.
This app scans the actual ingredients list on the package you are holding, so you don’t have to hope that the information in a database matches the current ingredients- and you don’t have to hope that the item you want to check is included in the database in the first place. For those of us who have a nightshade allergy, which isn’t recognized by most manufacturers (yet), being able to make your own list of ingredients to look for is incredibly helpful. You wouldn’t believe how many items include potato flour or starch, or paprika (which, I swear, is in just about everything.) I’ve paid for a supporter version, because it’s affordable and also because this app has made grocery shopping so much easier and faster
I use this app almost every grocery trip and have for years. I recommend it all the time. It is accurate and makes my life so much easier. So glad it exists. Very useful and you can add in your own keywords to scan for as well.
This app does not support people with alpha gal.
Hope you don’t have too many restrictions because then you have to pay. Sorry my kids apparently too sick for your app. Not impressed.

I didn’t not know I was paying for this app. I was on here and looking at the app trying different areas to see how it works. This app is not great at being user friendly. I was then charged for something from this app and now so far have no way yo connect with anyone to get the money back. I m going to keep trying.
We tried this on multiple items at home for a test run and it didn’t pick up anything - not even wheat on a box that said wheat twice.
Well throughout app would like to see more options in health for things to avoid with thyroid issues. I have Hashimoto’s and should avoid canola oil, soy(covered), Watch omega-6, gluten (covered) and glucosinolates. Expanding on health other health conditions that have restrictions would make this a 5 star app for me
Since I need to be on a FODMAP and gluten free diet, I was excited about the possibility of having a quick resource to help me shop using the app’s database of products and ingredients. What a disappointment! Not only was there no FODMAP category, which meant I would have to do the research and manually add each food item to a customized list of my own, but many of the food barcodes in my home did not “register” with the app’s database either. Only six non-comprehensive categories; one, being pregnancy. I want a refund!
