Spanish-English Larousse

This application used to be the BEST offline Spanish-English dictionary on the App Store (just like the equivalent Larousse French-English app). After its long-awaited update, it has lost almost all its best features. Even though the app wasn’t updated for several years, in its old form, it included SO much content: all verb conjugations linked to each verb entry, so many context examples and idiomatic phrases, audio pronunciation, the ability to click any word on the page and be taken to the dictionary entry for that word, a button to change the translation direction right on the search page (so basic!), and it was excellently formatted and designed—even considering its incorrect screen size and resolution because of the lack of update (and a couple of bugs). Almost all content has disappeared after the update!!! Where and why on earth has this all been lost with the update?! Very disappointed. Please, developers, bring back the old bugged version!! Muy delusionada!

The pronunciation doesn't work at all and it is a shame because this problem must be fix as part of the service of the company. Hopefully anybody can help us

A good entry-level reference tool. However severely under uses the interactive possibilities of App software. It could be vastly improved by hyper linking words to their definition page. The dictionary also under utilises its conjugation function - if you're not going to invest the time in writing up conjugation tables for all of the verbs (even though the claim is made to full conjugation tables) - why not link up verbs that are "conjugated like" to the same table? While there are plenty of "colloquial" expressions and sentence contextualisation of words, it often goes unmentioned that some of these expressions are very specific to certain regions. In addition to this I have come across many definitions that are very short in length and thus fall short of aiding comprehension. All in all, the vocal definitions are nicely done, the times that Larousse bothers to elaborate on the definitions it usually does them well. However it is a rather rushed and ill thought out App for such a juggernaut in the dictionary industry. Please pick up your act Larousse, instead of being merely mundane this could be such a wonderful application !

The names of the tenses are in French?! This is a Spanish-English dictionary! Also the app support link is broken. Also, the vocabulary could be much larger, not just the basic words. And I’m hispanic. Thanks.

This version of the poorly designed iPhone app is so much better, and best of all doesn’t crash upon looking up certain entries (it shows a blank entry instead). Perfect for all Spanish speakers of all levels! Definitely would recommend to anyone who wants to learn the language! 😀😀😀

This is an updated version of the one I’d originally purchased; formatted just like the English to French and German counterparts. Some months ago that one was updated (or rather DOWNGRADED) to a poorly conceived scheme not nearly as functional and intuitive. Relieved to have the original format reinstated.

As many have said, Larousse's French dictionary is spectacular and this one must be the version that was stuck in hospital with no oxygen and now suffers from severe brain damage. Please don't buy it. How could this company make such similar apps with such disparate levels of performance?

Thanks for taking out the conjugation functionality and making the app far less navigable. This app is garbage. Don’t buy it.

Not anywhere as good as Larousse French dictionary. It has not gotten it's necessary bug fixes. Trying to use the audio locks the app.

This app crashes on every search. It does not appear to be self contained so it must have a internet connection. When you search for a verb it gives you a definition of the verb in the language you searched, not the word in the translation language. So to get a translated conjugation, you must search twice. This app is an embarrassment. Don't bother.
