Spectrum News: Local Stories

Being a snowbird I actually like to see what is happening in the Tampa area through the spectrum news app. However when I must leave for border reasons. The app is shut down. Seems a little odd! I do get it but I wish you would take into consideration. We don’t want to leave, we have to. You want me to pay a small fee to keep the app well so be it. Or you could just let me read the news knowing I’ll be back and take spectrum again. So give me a reprieve of a date we agree upon and if I don’t make the return date. Then cut me off! I’ve been traveling back and forth for 12 years and I use spectrum for all those years. I think a little trust would be worth your time. I trusted you!

I find Bay News 9 one of the few news station that tells the news without inserting opinions. Not only do they report our local news, but they also report national and international events without extra drama. I especially like the positive reporting on the events and kindness in our community.

For someone who holds a degree in journalism and worked professionally as a reporter, the story about Senator Vance’s address reeks of, well, it just reeks. While this story has many problems with bias, tone and structure, among the more glaring was really a pretty simple language issue. At the beginning of one of the earlier paragraphs in the piece, the reporter(s) claim(s) that Vance “sought” to “blame President Biden for…” he want seeking anything. He was making a declarative statement regarding what he views as a fundamental shortcoming of the president. Basics like this are covered in Journalism 101 classes across America. Perhaps you or your editors should take one.

I have been seeing a lot of left leaning bias in Spectrums News. Perpetrating of untrue statements of liberal talking points 😬
