Great new app for speech
The x-rays and animations are really cool!
Y’all should do a one time buy, otherwise it’s not worth it in the long run for linguistics students and teachers. As a student, I’m more likely to use another resource than this app because of the monthly fee.
This may be a useful app but you can literally do NOTHING until you pay for it. It’s so ridiculous that apps present themselves as ‘free’ and then when you open the app the first thing you get is a screen asking for you to pay. You can’t even test all the features using one phoneme unless you pay.
No tiene las lecciones completas por que no es gratis
I really find this app very helpful. I am a PhD student majoring in Language, Literary and Technology, and the app helps me a lot with my research. I highly recommend the app for those who are English teachers and researchers focusing on English pronunciation. Thank you to the author. 👍
You cannot use this app unless you pay for subscription. This is useless unless you are willing to spend money. They don’t even have a sample or free for a certain period of time. USELESS APP.
Great app!
I just purchased this app. I like the fluoroscopic video of the sounds being produced. However, the number of vowels depicted are insufficient (there are about 18 vowels in English if you include the 'r'-colored vowels). They completely left out the /ɔ/, as in 'caught, bought, saw, all' and substitute /ɑ/ as in 'hot', which is probably due to the dialect of the woman who is modeling the phonemes. She most likely doesn't have the vowel /ɔ/ in her personal repertoire, so it is just omitted. However, the vowels in 'cot' vs. 'caught' are separate phonemes in Standard American and RP English! I purchased the R-sound Combinations for an extra 99 cents which includes the diphthongs with the post-vocalic 'r', but what they call the Initial R is not the consonant, rather the post-vocalic 'r' as in 'word, turn, learn, girl, fern'. They left out the retroflexed liquid /r/ as in 'red'. Overall, this is a useful app, however it is deficient in its representation of the entire phonemic inventory of Standard English dialects.
Thank you for adding phonetics! You have just elevated yourself and I love it!
