Speed Box is a Speedometer and GPS app for both your iPhone and iPad. It displays your current speed, distance, direction and altitude along with your top speed and average speed. The app also keeps a record of the speed and altitude for the last few hours.

SpeedBox was one of the very early Speedometer Apps for the iPhone. Take advantage of my experience and the refined algorithms that can get a much greater accuracy from the iPhone then a lot of other apps. I regularly update my application to make it even more accurate and usable.
Users have already used our application to verify the accuracy of their car's speedometer or they tried measuring the speed they achieved while skiing. Can you come up with more ideas? How about measuring the speed of the airplane you travel with?
USAGE NOTES
========================
The "GPS strength" indicator in the top left corner should display a green dot. You can tap this indicator to display the current GPS accuracy.
Please allow the application up to a minute to find enough satellites to work correctly.
If you get a message to enable GSP, please go to ”Settings > General > Location Services“ on your iPhone and check if the little switch is set to "On" for Speed Box as well as for "Location Services" in general.
ATTENTION iPod touch users! Unfortunately this app doesn't work very well on the iPod touch and the iPad WiFI (without 3G) since these devices are missing a GPS!

I want more high max speed!
This App is very good and cool:) If I can say one my desire, I want more high max speed. I think it's more better that this App have max speed more than 300km/h. (I need 360km/h) Because I often use this App to measure the speed of bullet train of Japan. I like this App very much!

伊豆への旅行に持って行きました。 東海道線エリアと伊豆急エリアでの体感速度の違いをメーターと比較しながら楽しみました。 列車内でもトンネル以外は結構追従してくれます。 あとはデザインがワンポイント足らないだけだと思います。
問題ないです
2年以上前から(3Gの時代から)ずっとインストールしているアプリです。 さすがに飛行機のキャビンではGPSを捉えられないようで、機能した事はありませんが、自動車内で使うには困ったことはありません。 他の同種のアプリと比較しても正確性は問題ないです。自動車のスピードメーターは40Km/hを正確に表示されるように調整されているので、それ以上の速度は実際よりも早く表示される誤差があるのですが、このアプリでその誤差が確認できるほどです。 バージョンアップも頻繁にされるので、楽しみが多いアプリです。
ネタとして最高
Ver1の頃からiPhoneで使っていました。ちょこちょこアップデートされて、特に不満も無いです。iPadでのHD表示に対応しているのでこちらで表示させると....爆笑ものの迫力です。

Make more detailed GPS information (if it's possible with satellite info). And better support for iPhone 4 (retina display support).
It’s a good app but..
What would make it better is if there was a way to use it for directions also or be able to have it as a widget or something of that sort for the people who need to be able to see the map while following directions.
Looks promising
Just got the paid app. Haven’t even tried it out yet but looks good. Simple, yet with the needed info. Will update review as I use it.
‘91 Cummins Fan
Perfect for what I need! Speed, audible warning when preset speed is exceeded, and mileage between fill ups. The cost is minimal for what you get. The only thing that seems to be lost from earlier versions is that it turns itself off while I’m driving. I must keep a finger on the display to keep it running continuously. I don’t think I’ve reset something that was previously ‘ON’. Otherwise, it would be a 5 star rating from me.
