Spotify Kids

Was really excited when I saw this app as kids music has been taking over my Spotify curations and it’s hard to find new music for myself, but was really disappointed. The layout and colours are great, but there are whole albums missing in the kids app while the Spotify has them, there is no lyrics feature either which is one of my favourite things in Spotify. Deleted the app straight away, might start paying for YouTube Music…

The app is hard to use. I get that one of its purposes is to give kids a place to safely control their music but it should also function for those of us with younger children who just want a place to seperate our kids listening from our own so we don't have children's music filling up our own Spotify algorithm. For example there is a great deal of popular children's music on Spotify that isn't available on Spotify kids. An example is Numberblocks. But there are plenty of others, I'd say I find what I want about 30% of the time I search. Yeah, creating shared playlists is a work around but it's a faff and sometimes kids want to listen to their latest fad that you haven't had a chance to playlist yet. Easy fix would a be a pin protected adult profile in kids that allows access to all Spotify content not marked as explicit. Or maybe the ability to easily access seperate profiles in the regular Spotify app. I pay for a family account just to access this app in order to keep my kids music out of my own Spotify profile so it's pretty frustrating this app is so useless for that task. Have been waiting for more content to be made available for a few years and it's never happened. So not sure...

Even if you populate a playlist with episodes suitable for or preferred for your child, it won’t play. Useless. And then they up the price for a family membership. Nope!

I give three stars because my younger kids are happy so far. But my 10 year old is devastated he can’t find his favourite artists. The selection is super limited. Yes, we can share playlists from my own account, but what if he likes listening to a different artist or mixing it up every now and then and discovering similar artists? He’ll be constantly using my account to add songs to playlists so that I can share them to the kids app. Also it would be good for kids to make their own playlists. It would be good to be able to “like” a playlist so they can hear more music like that. I feel this app over supports the major pop artists (and k pop?!) and has limited alternative artists. Maybe if kids had the ability to search for artists beyond Spotify Kids selection and then parents could approve songs from within the parent portal. Something needs to be done or this has been a waste of money signing up to family premium.

I tested this out and as soon as I went into this app it asked me to pay No wonder there are so many bad reviews and I’ve heard the music is so out of date fr this #### is not for the next generation like what the #### is that music from 2001 lying to costumers

It helps me know new songs that I don’t know and I can get interested in I think it’s just a really good app in particular you should definitely download this app I think it is amazing. I’ve had it before you can listen to the own songs that you want to. You can search it up. You can do anything with Kids Spotify it’s just that you can’t get the songs that are on your normal Spotify if you have normal Spotify, so it’s kind of good and kind of bad. I hope you like it if you download it it’s really good for me particular.

This is the worst app ever it has no good music only old boring music that no one likes if you want kids to like it then put high energy dance music on there. 0 out of 10 would never recommend to anyone.

I get the fact that there is limited songs because it’s meant for kids BUT the fact there is no shuffle button is really bad (hence my rating).There is other issues but this really bugs me. Plllleeeaaassse fix this. ❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜🩷🤍🤎🖤🩶

Great app potentially, but without carplay or sonos integration it’s useless to me and i presume a lot of others!
