Dissapointing

Ihave recently purchased staffpad. The idea of your software is cool. But the main thing, the recognition of musical handwriting is really deplorable. Try to improve that! Instrad of include more fancy. stuff like audio and elastic time etc. Try really to improve the recognition of handwriting, or if you dont manage, include a tool where you chose the note length and tip in the score to set the note where one wants it. Also you really should offer a demo version for customers to try before buy! It was eg impossible to write a sixteenth note a eight note and a sixtenth note under one stem!!!
Only works for very basic stuff. If you have something slightly complex , forget it. Example : a group of 4 16th notes , but one of them is a 16th rest. Impossible. And there are tons of examples. Do not waste your money.
I don‘t know a lot about writing scores. But this is by far the most convenient and intuitive app I used for score writing. Everything just makes sense. Thanks a lot to the developers!
It’s not the quickest way to write. I was so excited to get this app but now I get more and more disappointed. I thought it could be better with time but not… They never respond to my questions. Many times I had to find some solutions myself.
As far as I know, there are 3 Apps on the entire App Store that are still - at least - kinda updated and support handwriting recognition: Notion, Symphony Pro 5 and Staffpad. The problem here is, that just „supporting“ handwriting recognition does not make it a great handwriting app. And it really shows! While Symphony Pro 5 tries to make it a main feature, but ultimately fails in proper workflow and actual good recognition, Notion makes you pay for a feature hidden in different menus which you’d have to go through every single time you changed to another tool. In the end you‘ll just end up not using that feature at all, since it‘s just not practical and really isn‘t fleshed out in terms of recognizing stuff. And no, I‘m not trying to say, that those two apps are bad note taking apps. You can very much compose stuff in them and they each are good in their own things. If handwriting is not that important to you, you could just as well go get a completely different app. But if you really are keen on it: Staffpad is genuinely the only option at the moment! It really is a brilliant app! It was purely made for handwriting and it works amazingly. There are close to no flaws with this app and with the crazy sounds it comes with (and the ones it delivers as part of In-App-Purchases at a very fair prize) it really elevates the way I compose music. It really feels like an Orchestra is playing those exact notes I just wrote and it‘s breathtaking. And yes, I know, looking at the price it looks high for an iPad App, but it IS worth every cent. Trust me I have bought and tried all three of these recently mentioned Apps and I‘m sad that I didn‘t go for Staffpad in the first place since I cannot refund the In-App-Purchases of the other two apps, so I lost around 25 bucks for nothing at all.
Great App, unfortunately not yet fully developed. The erasing of a notes or element does not work with the pen as shown in the video. The markings still remain after crossing out.
