Standard Bank / Stanbic Bank

App Store states app requires IOS 12 or higher. Running 12.5.7, just get a blank blue screen

For a big institution like Standard Bank, it’s disappointing an updated version is rolled out without having tested it properly. The home screen appears and then crashes before I can enter my pin. Come on Standard/Stanbic I expected more. I am using an iPad with IOS 10 +. Warning to other IOS users I would avoid updating to this version. It doesn’t look like you can roll back the update once installed.

I advise anyone not to update their app if it works. I recently did update the app, and can no longer use the application. I have emailed the bank about the problems twice and they have not responded in any way. You are lately enforced to verify your cell number, but I have explicitly turned this feature off; before leaving South Africa as I would not have access to the number. Clearly this use case was being thought of. The app asks to verify my cell number. How can I verify my cell if I removed the feature deliberately by going to the bank prior, and I no longer have the cell number? 1 star for usability. Totally useless, I cannot even see my bank balance. Security does matter, I get that; but SMS only is not a solution. Who put the cell verification in place, if I asked for it to be removed. I have been loyal to this bank, for 30 years. My advice is to move on. Other banks applications work abroad, this app does not.

I can access the banking on the internet, and have email OTP setup. When i try to access the app it keeps on asking me to to put the cell number OTP in!!!!!!! This is an issue with the app. Please help. Thanks

Worst app I’ve used for a banking app, the cards that are associated to your account do not match also customer service is appalling

In todays day and age of technology, your credit card live debit order clearing is simply poor. I received notifications on money transferred days after I have done the transfer even though it reflects on my live statement immediately. And payments made clear days after I have completed rhe transactions. It makes it extremely difficult to control.

Terrible service. Long wait and too few tellers. My card was scammed ( despite it never having left my purse other than a cash withdrawal)and I am 85,years old and had long waits and no replies to phone calls to Fraud Dept. No preferential treatment for pensioners. However, aways happy with Standard Bank app on my phone
