This app has sucked since two iOS updates ago… it continues to auto dim to total darkness with my iPhone whenever I open it
I love being able to order online and have my order ready when I get there. They do such a good job of having it ready on time and not making me wait.
This app does what it’s supposed to do really well, and that is allow you to place orders conveniently at any Starbucks near you. The only issue it has, is you cannot as conveniently cancel those orders. It is also not always great at predicting the amount of time your order will take. I order ahead to avoid waiting in line and will usually place my order about 10 minutes before I leave the house. Problem is that it seems this is a lot of people’s mentality, and so while it seems to be the solution to waiting in line, you usually have to wait just as long for your order by the time you get there if the Starbucks you live near is popular. I live in the city, so all the Starbucks near me are popular and therefore always busy. Sometimes I don’t have time to wait for my drink when I get there after I’ve already placed an order 15-20 minutes prior, and the app does not allow you any option to cancel, even if your order hasn’t been started yet. I am sure this is great for making them money, but as a customer it is frustrating, and I imagine it is even more frustrating for the workers who have to keep up with the insane catalogue of orders. In my opinion, Starbucks should have a max quantity of orders that can be accepted at a location, and if it reaches that capacity, the only option for ordering should be at the counter or in the drive thru. And similarly, if your order hasn’t been started yet, you should be allowed to cancel your order at any time. It seems a bit shady and dishonest to me the way they have it set up now. Wait times are usually not accurate, the workers seem to be extremely rushed to keep up with the current log of orders, and you can’t back out once you realize how backed up the store actually is. Would be a great app if they could fix these issues and make the ability to order and cancel orders more in line with the reality of the limitations of the store and its workers.
I never had any problems with this app for years, but I got a new iPhone when my old one got stolen 6 weeks ago. I can’t log into my old account which is unfortunate because I had just refilled a Starbucks card. So I lost not only the rewards on my account, but also the money I had put into it to get extra rewards. It says the login information is incorrect, and when I send a password reset, I don’t receive an email. There’s no way to get back into my account. I also gave up, and tried to make a new account through the app, and through a desktop log in case it was the phone, and have even used all new information. I keep getting the error “something went on our end.” So this app is completely useless to me. I was optimistic when the app updated but I still can’t make an account anywhere, let alone log in on my phone and use it.

The app works great. But, what I do not like about it is you cannot just use your credit card for the amount of the order purchase. You have to always reload your “card” for a certain amount. I want to be able to use my credit card or debit card on the app for the amount of my order and not to reload my Starbucks card.
So I download it and I was putting my name and you know like signing in and when I pressed done it said email is already used and I’m like what so I put in a different one and it still says it doesn’t work so I couldn’t sign in and I was trying to use so I couldn’t get coffee if I was running late one day or something but I would prefer to download the Dutch bros app because they give a free drink just because you joined the app.
So appreciate being able to order and know I won’t have the same wait. It’s unfortunate that the app will say your drink is ready though when in fact it hasn’t even been started. The only the tissue is it doesn’t tell you if there’s an issue so often I’ve shown up only for a team member to tell me my drink couldn’t be made because they didn’t have everything needed.
Repeatedly gives me some cruddy popup asking if I love the app, wanting a review if Yes and internal feedback if no. Quit it.
