StepPolyArp

Step Arpeggiator/Sequencer

Veröffentlicht von: Laurent Colson

Beschreibung

"StepPolyArp" is a real-time polyphonic and polyrhythmic MIDI step arpeggiator and step sequencer. It can be used as a standalone application or an AUv3 MIDI effect plug-in.
The application and the plug-in can operate as a step arpeggiator by automatically generating melodic patterns from played notes or chords, or as a step sequencer that doesn't require MIDI input to play.
Unlimited presets can be saved on a local device and synchronized to iCloud. Each preset contains 16 patterns, 5 customizable polyrhythmic step controllers, and a 32 steps event matrix with 11 polyphonic and polyrhythmic lines driving the arpeggiator engine.
The application supports full internal and external MIDI connections for input and output, Ableton Link sync, and MIDI clock source sync. An internal sound bank is included.
The AUv3 MIDI effect plug-in supports multiple instances. A compatible host is required to run the plug-in. The host needs to support the Audio Unit v3 (AUv3) MIDI effect format.
Hosts supporting AUv3 MIDI effect: Logic Pro, Cubasis, Beatmaker, AUM, Audiobus, NanoStudio, Auria Pro, apeMatrix.

“It’s just so good”

Really nice, powerful yet easy to use. When I first started using this I thought this is so good. Little did I know at that point I was just scratching the surface with what this could do.

Powerful, flexible and stable arp/sequencer

I've really gotten to grips with StepPolyArp in recent times and am finding it to be deep, versatile and a perfect fit for many of my projects. l don't really use other arpeggiator apps anymore as SPA provides everything I need from predictable straight-up arpeggiation to randomized/evolving patterns. It's super stable and importantly SPA has endured while other apps have come and gone. Support is great from a very responsive developer. Certain parameters (such as speed, gate, octave etc.) can be controlled on-the-fly by external midi and I've made good use of this. SPA sits deservedly at the centre of my workflow. Top marks!

Another AUV3 with great potential but..

None of the parameters are accessible over midi. What’s the point with no automation or external control? Paid for sequencer.. received a toy :(. Please fix this!

Switched from older app

Bought the older non-au app in error. Refunded by dev/store and immediately deleted the original and bought this - Does exactly what I needed. Great app.

A good auv3 midi arpeggiator

A good arpeggiator step sequencer. Gets updated often.

Doesn’t do what it says on the tin

This is a nice arp/seq with lots of groovy features, but polyrhythmic it is not. It’s polymeter. Welcome additions would be: Actual polyrhythms ‘As played’ arp pattern and velocity

Incredible!

Amazing app. Lots of experimental fun to be had using it with various other AU. Only big issue is lack of a regular expanded Piano Roll for the sequencer mode. Pleeeeeeease add this dev! Will be an instant 5 star app if this appears in future.

Great evolution of a great app

Getting on board with midi AU will surely extend the longevity of StepPolyArp. The ability to set midi channel per row makes this app a good pairing with the Korg Volca Sample. Having the ability to run multiple instances as an AU is lovely.

Any way to use velocities from the controller?

AudioCookbook on

Vereinigte Staaten

This is an excellent arpeggiator! Unfortunately I see no way to use the velocities that are played on the controller versus translating them to the sequence of velocities stored with the arp pattern. Is there a way to bypass the velocities so that you can utilize your own performed dynamics like the way most hardware arpeggiators work?
