Love the idea, and is beautiful, but execution falls short. Many quotes are just totally made up. My guess is the developer leaned heavily on AI and was too lazy to check what was generated. The backgrounds look AI generated too. Here’s an example of a fake quote that makes no sense and just popped up: “Life’s no soft job. Not a battlefield, where cowards are the ones who run the most risk.” - falsely attributed to Cleanthes Note to developer, please QC your quotes and I will change to a 5/5!
In a time of lots of useless quotes being created and attributed to people who never said them, I’m skeptical when I come across ones I don’t know about. I found myself almost ready to share a quote, attributed to Marcus Aurelius, but thankfully decided to double check it was legit since I had never heard it before. Imagine my frustration when the quote in question was never said by him through any translation that I could find. Quotes don’t have to be from certain individuals to resonate, but they should not be attributed to someone falsely just to lend them an air of legitimacy. I have deleted the app and do not recommend this app. Only reason I gave it 2 stars was that the interface was clean and easy.
Can't use it 99% of the time. So sad that it has so much potential, but bugs can break an app’s popularity.
Great quotes, when it works. More often than not it’s a blank widget that appears to be trying to load.
Minimal which I’m a huge fan of, the font is strong and the size of each letter is serious just how I like it. Has the best stoic quotes and ones I’ve particularly seen elsewhere along with the same Stoics that echoed these heart strengthening aphorisms
