I am using this app to score the 2024 World Series between the Dodgers and the Yankees. After a short learning curve, I’ve grown to love this app. It is very well thought out and very easy and fast to use and gives a nice finished score sheet.
Best Baseball Scoring App By A Wide Margin!
This app captures the feel of scoring on paper perfectly. It has all of the bells and whistles necessary while maintaining a clean and user-friendly interface. And it’s free! Kudos to this developer!
Best E scorebook I’ve used so far!
I used StrikeEmOut for the first time today to score a ML game as I listened to it on the radio. I liked that it is so similar to scoring with pencil and paper, as I used my Apple Pencil and iPad. Here are a few suggestions for improvement:
-I was very impressed that I could easily import the line ups for the games, but disappointed that the uniform numbers of the players did not import. Maybe an update can import the numbers?
-I found it very annoying that if I touched a previously completed play it immediately erased the play I'd input and replaced it with a "K". Sometimes this happened without me even knowing it, so I may have lost the play. Perhaps a future update can add a lock function to completed plays (with the ability to unlock to edit), or a question "Do you want to edit this play?" so that completed plays remain unchanged when inadvertently touched.
-Colors: How about automatically asking for a color change when a pitcher changes, to make the batters faced by each pitcher a different color.
-And I like the Export Game as Image. How about Export as a pdf?
-And the "View Player Hitting Stats..." doesn't seem to work. The list of player has correct AB, R, H, RBI numbers, but when I open an individual player all the stats are goose eggs.
-And how about the ability to add a written narrative to a play, explaining in words what happened for those confusing plays.
But so far so good - the best e-scoresheet I've seen so far.
Really is just like scoring in paper
Really is just like scoring in paper which is exactly what I was looking for. Enjoy using this app.
The only update I currently would like to see added is an option to freeze the first column as always viewable or at least display the player names in the same way that the inning and batting order numbers are when scrolled off the screen.
Kudos
Great improvements during this year to make a very good product!
Love the ability to customize
I love keeping a paper scorebook and have been reluctant to try keepimg score on iPad because I don’t always use a standard way. This app comes as close as any I’ve seen to letting me do that, including tracking how runners get around the bases. With color options, it’s even more customizable now. Best scorebook app available.
Very Good App but a lot of room to improve
I have used the app for 6 games. I have been mostly satisfied with it. I use on an IPad, and usually score games when I get home from work. The Pros: I enjoy the fact that I can pick up the game where it is at and then go back to fill in the rest. Feels like a real paper scorecard. I think the customization is excellent and I especially like that pitch’s can be recorded either with an X or by number, swing, called, Time Violation. This is one of the best features. The Cons: I sent a request for help but got no response. I place the roster for the following day’s game and the lineup will either erase or the same lineup will be appear for all the teams I have listed. This has been the most problematic feature because for every game I am forced to renter all the players information as opposed to pulling it up from a previous game. This makes the lineup feature useless. (I acknowledge that the following is knit picking but I wanted to point it out for future upgrades) Positions are not a separate entry so that a player who changes position there is no real clear way of noting that change. Plus, you have to enter the Catcher in twice, as opposed to entering itself automatically. Because you have to list the player in the lineup and in the Catcher stat section. One the most annoying features is your inability to place zeros in the tally box’s. This has led me to enter incorrect numbers. Overall though an app I would recommend.
Decent
It works, has a bit of a learning curve, also wish the export to image feature worked but I just get a completely white image when I try it.
Loving the app.
Only reason I gave a 4 - I am wondering about the 1-9 in the ball boxes and the F, C & S in the strike boxes?
Trying to figure out the best way to “post” outs.
S.H.
Just like the scorebook we are all used to.
But it sits in your hand not on your lap and all you need is one hand do you can enjoy the ball park food. Took a couple of games to figure it out. Only draw back is you can’t print.
