SunSmart Global UV

There are other apps more suited if you are more health conscious and not into the wokism of slapping on sunscreens, which can do far more damage than a sensible approach to UV exposure.

I do love this app, but the main feature I need is the daily notifications of UV index. Which no longer works.

It is interesting that the Live UV index in Canberra always is “Now 3.9 Max 8” even at the night and in the early morning in the mid of March 2024.

Compared with prior app, I’m disappointed that the alerts are no longer reliable. If the main point of this app is to tell you when to wear a hat (etc), the if it doesn’t tell you this, it is pointless?

Love this app but notifications have not been working for months now. I have it set up to notify at a certain time and when protection is required. Neither work. I have to manually go into the app to find out when protection is required. Please fix this. That was a great feature.

Used to be quite good but with the Alerts not working, not so useful.

my app only ever shows a grey screen with no info, deleted and redownloaded it several times and made sure the newest version but no changes

I have just deleted the app and got the Willy Weather app instead. For the last month at least this app has consistently given the wrong UV index. I found myself having to constantly check it against other websites. Last night it was saying UV was 9.3 at 5:30 at night and also saying that sun protection was no longer needed after 5:30. I checked elsewhere and UV was at 3. Waste of time having this if it doesn’t achieve it’s only purpose.

I love this app! Can you please add a widget? Also, a notification when sun protection is no longer required — I go out for a walk at this time

Notifications haven’t been working for weeks (months?) now. It used to send duplicates, but even that was better than none 😕
