SWAM Tenor Sax

Expressive modeled Sax

Veröffentlicht von: Audio Modeling

Beschreibung

SWAM Solo Woodwinds has arrived on iOS! The incredibly powerful Physical Modeling technology is now MOBILE. Extreme Expressivity and Realism delivered in a package of only 46 MB
These instruments are NOT sample libraries. Unlike sampling, which uses recordings to replicate the sound of an instrument, physical modeling doesn’t generate a sound as such but creates the conditions for the system to create it according to an external input (like someone playing on a keyboard).
With our SWAM Tenor Sax for iOS, you now have the unique ability to express yourself with all the emotions and subtleties of a natural string instrument sound as played by a real player, in any style — from classical to film scoring and even microtonal music.
SWAM Tenor Sax for iOS can be used as a standalone instrument for playing in real-time, or as a plug-in for mobile music production. Play with your favorite external controller or directly from your iOS device through our intuitive interface, friendly for blind and visually impaired users.
With SWAM Tenor Sax for iOS you can:
- Explore our collection of presets, create your own, or import them from your Desktop
- Play in real-time using the standalone version of the app
- Play with different instrument bodies
- Play in a variety of styles like a real player
Control the instrument’s expressivity in real-time directly through the touch control interface on your iPhone or iPad including the exclusive virtual bowing touch surface!
- Play and control the instrument’s expressivity in real-time using your favorite external controller (ROLI Seaboard, Akai EWI, breath controllers, regular keyboards, and more)
- Use the included AUv3 plugin version to produce music with a mobile setup
- Use the included AUv3 plugin version in combination with Camelot PRO for live performances
- Adjust every aspect of the instrument’s sound (timbre, vibrato, amount of air, etc.) through an easy-to-use control panel
- Micro-tune the instrument through the Pitch Manager (note: MAQAM device is supported with direct integration)
- Add built-in effects such as Reverb, EQ, and Compressor
- Have access to easy MIDI control configurations
The SWAM Tenor Sax for iOS is for you if:
- You’re a wind controller player looking for a mobile setup to perform live without needing a computer while still having an incredible sound.
- You’re a keyboard player and feeling frustrated by the limited expressive capabilities normal sample-based plugins give you.
- You’re a music producer looking for a mobile setup to produce music from anywhere without having to carry around expensive gear.
- You’re looking for a virtual instrument that allows you to express the full range of your musicality easily on your iPhone or iPad.
IMPORTANT: If you choose to play using an external controller, please note that a controller with the ability to continuously control the expression (like an expression pedal, breath controller, MPE device, wind controller, …) is REQUIRED. The same way real players need a bow to express themself on their instrument, SWAM Tenor Sax needs something to control its expressivity. SWAM instruments do not work with just note-on velocity.

Note Getting Stuck!

I’ve been trying the different saxophone apps and the flute app for about a week. I’m impressed by the sound quality of the saxophones. The developers are doing great and the apps still need improvement. The reverb is limited and this is the only effect I can use, I want to be able to use more reverb and there needs to be more variety of effects. The keyboard also needs to be displayed on the screen like it should be 🎹 with large white keys and smaller black keys, not all the same size. I have a major issue…when I’m playing in the app a note gets stuck and won’t stop playing. This has happened three times already since I got the apps last week. This is a problem that needs to be fixed I want an app that is reliable for professional performance. Overall the app is ok and I think it has great potential. I will update my review if I notice changes/improvements based on my feedback. I use the apps in an iPad 2021 9th generation. Note is C#4 specifically

Updated app and now no sound is being produced. Way to go

Wowww

5 min. into using the app with my EWI…wowww! It’s not just the sound that pleases but the multiple facets of the app that can be applied and adjusted for a very close to authentic sound you just can’t get with any other app or VST without putting in maad hours and hard work. I bought one instrument and now intend to get a couple of quartets.

Get it. Best there is.

I use a MIDI breath controller called the DM48 digital harmonica. Nothing comes close to these sounds, even surpassing my VL70 turbo module- which has been the best modeled brass used by breath control folks for many years. (Ewi’s, etc) My live rig is now an ipad and a Roland Cube, versus a rather hefty rack of modules and a mixing board. Take the time to tweak the sounds, there are an infinite number of nuances you can implement, mutes, growls, overblows, and even the specific tone for just your default horn. It’s easy to save presets, I have some that are set up just for particular songs. For me, this is a big game changer, I’ve been waiting for the IOS versions to drop- so glad they’re here!!!

Confused about app

LarsLooperMan on

Am I confused? The app downloaded and ran standalone and within GarageBand for iPad. However when I go to render/share my song from GB the instrument drops out completely from the song. Is there a toggle somewhere that allows its output to be part of the song? As I noted I am confused as this acts like any other instrument in GB as an external audio device, but does not render in the song. Help! Thx
