Sweepy: Home Cleaning Schedule

Love it!

My housemate and I use this to keep on top of our cleaning and make sure nothing goes forgotten about for months (I’m looking at you, light switches). It’s really handy! I wish the notifications were more custom though - it just tells me to clean at 6pm but I have to go into the app to check what jobs are on for today, which can be a bit slow and cumbersome. I also think the UI is a bit cluttered. Otherwise, a good app that does what it says it does.

Having a limit of 3, yes 3 little rotating tasks which is a very much required feature basically renders the app useless. In other words, you have 3 children, each take turns at tasks (rotating task). So now let's say you have one of your rooms "Kitchen" and within the kitchen you have 3 separate tasks or chores, well that's it for rotating tasks now, the app says the scheduler won't work if you add in more rotating tasks, however you still have the remainder of the ENTIRE house you need to rotate tasks through. Do not bother with this app if that's how you want to do it.

This app doesn’t quite deliver. The problem being that if you attempt to add more than 3 tasks that rotate through members of your household, it begins to bug and doesn’t actually rotate the task correctly. 3 tasks as a limit for this is a bit ridiculous, for example in my household 2 of these are taken up by “taking the bins to the curb” and “bringing them around the house”. Leaving only one spot for a rotating task without the app losing it’s mind.

I have always struggled so much with keeping up with cleaning schedules. Sweepy has been amazing for breaking things into smaller tasks and my house has never looked better. Initial set up was pretty easy with the suggested tasked for each room, but I did find myself tweaking things to suit my needs. Breaking dishes up into categories like cutlery, plates, bowls, pans etc. as I do not have a dishwasher and hand washing is my biggest ADHD hurdle. But also removing some of the more “aspirational” tasks, like cleaning the baseboards of every room. Just not feasible for my lifestyle as it is now. I have had this app since around April or May of 2023 and I am now at a point with it where it feels like a good balance for my own abilities and the needs of my household. Absolute 10 out of 10 app.

Love it! I still don’t get everything done, but I feel much better because my house is cleaner!! I’m cleaning things that usually get pushed to the back again and again! Sounds weird, but it’s helped my mental health as well because I feel like I’m achieving more now with cleaning our house and it’s not as overwhelming. Thank you!! Occasionally I only get half a task done, not sure if there may be room for a “half done” option in the future for these times? Although I will be trying to do 100% of a task, this was just a thought!!

I have never cleaned in habit. Things pile up and I get overwhelmed. This app has really helped me get into a routine. Even if I get some little things done it helps future me by miles. I’m actually enjoying getting things done now because I’m seeing the benefits in real time. I’m finally keeping up with the house. The app has different kinds of tasks you can add too like recurring, once off, seasonal. Very helpful not just for the regular cleans but for those one odd or seasonal jobs that you put off or forget about. Highly recommend!

It’s great to see your tasks at a glance with it separated into rooms so you could focus on doing a whole rooms tasks or individual tasks in all rooms.. the possibilities are endless really, because you can see what you need to do, where to do it, how often to do it, how long ago it was done and how clean/ dirty it is based on the last two things. I love it!

What a great app. Helps me break down my cleaning tasks into small jobs that I can get through and not be overwhelmed. Can see at a glance which room needs the most attention.
