First, it wouldn’t connect to my WiFi or let me try another network - even after restarting the device and deleting my account. Finally it went through, but now the app is stalled on the room sound check. I can’t connect to it over Bluetooth or AirPlay yet. Such a disaster
Flawless, always on airplay
I hate this app so much. WHEN setup works, it takes for ever. I have not been able to add a second speaker which essentially wasted me another $2,500. Would not recommend to anyone
Not only is hardware truly incredible. The software keeps getting better in every release. I gave some critical feedback and every single issue was addressed and features implemented in subsequent releases. I had a hardware issue, support was incredible (cell fell out of warranty and it was handled anyway). As an Audiophile, Syng is second to none. App is solid, company is amazing.
I purchased three of the Alpha Cells to create a multi-dimensional sound experience in our living space, but unfortunately, the software binding them together has been highly unreliable. Compared to our other wireless devices, which never seem to glitch, disconnect or lose performance, the Cells via App have often failed to live up to expectations. We have had gatherings where music was planned, but instead of providing an enjoyable audio experience, the Cells glitched, stopped playing and had to be replaced with our more reliable Sonos system. My family now considers the Cells a disappointment and I can't blame them. Although they are good when they are working, the unreliability has been a major issue.

After getting in touch with the wonderful support team at Syng, they have stated that they will look into accessibility issues I'm having with the application. The most critical feature, (being able to move the sound source around your space), is not accessible to VoiceOver users, and pinching to focus or widen the soundstage is not working either. The layout is a bit confusing, but works well enough, allowing VoiceOver to access settings, however the swiping between Cells is not entirely obvious. I hope this company will be able to find a senior iOS engineer soon, and one who values accessibility as a right.
