Does not work out of box
This software was recommended by psychology as a way to connect the Apple Files app to my Synology server. It does not seem to do that despite the recommendation, it seems to want the psychology cloud app working on my server. I am not sure why I want that… In fact I am sure I do not. What I want is a single app… Files… To connect directly to my local server, without any third-party services provided by Synology.
I could be wrong about this… But the documentation and error messages are so obscure as to be non-existent. It might be that this app is designed to use that psychology service that I don’t want to touch (no cloudy stuff no AI stuff). It would be nice if Synology provided support that pointed to a simple solution that did not involve promoting their cloudy stuff.
Doesn’t work for me
If I open the drive I can see all of the folders we have on the server but if I tap on a folder it doesn’t open. No explanation of why. Why not make things intuitive Synology? Not all of your users are IT gurus.
Used to work, now synology is forcing people to buy new hardware
I used to be able to select which folders to sync and which ones to completely ignore,
now the only was to do that is to create a sync task per folder and make sure sync subfolders is not enabled.
however this doesn’t work and even if its set to “download only” and NOT “two way sync” and you delete the folder from from the app
it’s removed from the server, so the app still wants to try an download everything from the driver server.
Also there is no point in updating the app when you need to update Synology Drive Server to 3.5.0 when that seems to only be available for DSM7.2 version only
and Drive server is still on 3.2.1-23271 as I can’t upgrade from DSM 7.1.1-42962
Is this a way to force users to buy new hardware, cos if it is, I might as well move to another NAS
Absolute rubbish
Back to OneDrive I go, this app is so frustrating, won't download files, constant connection issues, just doesn't work as it should, avoid
Sync not working on ios
I wrote a review mistakenly believing this app when it claimed to sync. Nope, it claims that my audio folders sync, but then appears that only the flacs and cover art. Not the mp3s. Much worse, there seems to be no sync at all. It doesn’t create a folder in “files”. In fact, it doesn’t ask for file and folder permissions when first installed…so how could it do it anyway?
Please support multiple drives better
Hi having invested in multiple drives I was disappoint that the iOS app does not support this, which I understand works on other platforms, can this support be added without the need to log out of a drive and into another?
Otherwise it seems ok.
App no longer working
Recent updates have caused it to stop working. Have updated software. Tried logging out, now can’t log back in
Sooooo user unfriendly
I find this app extremely difficult to use
Need List View for Folders & Thumbnail View for Photos/Videos
I would really like to see the following feature implemented in the app:
Allow us to select both list view for folders and thumbnail view for photos/videos simultaneously. For example, all folders could be listed at the top in the list view, followed by photos/videos in the thumbnail view.
The reason for this request is that currently, the app only allows us to select one view (list view or thumbnail view), and when folder names are long, we have to choose list view, which makes it difficult to see the photos. If we select thumbnail view, it shows the photos/videos but not the full folder names. Therefore, it would be great if a choice of selecting this option to be added under the three dots menu, allowing us to choose this suggested option as well.
Nice app, very poor system
I turned this on and the database it created was effectively doubling the space that my data on my Synology NAS required.
The indexing for this app / service was taking forever so I went investigating and discovered the free space on my Synology was WAY lower than it should be. The indexing must have been copying all the data over to the database. This is absurd and wasteful.
Recommend avoiding this until Synology fix this. Otherwise you’ll eat through double the storage space.
This is before accounting for versioning which is a nice Drive feature but would use additional space.
