T-Minus, the essential new tinnitus wellness app is set to give sufferers of tinnitus – one of the world’s most common invisible conditions – a new tool to help manage their wellness.
As seen on the BBC
Featured in The Daily Telegraph, Metro, MusicTech, Music Radar, M-Magazine, DJ Mag and more.
Perfect for anyone experiencing the symptoms of tinnitus, T-Minus is brought to you with the help of Audiologists, Hearing Therapists, ENT consultants and other health experts.
The T-Minus app hosts a number of features, including the incredible T-Minus sound therapy library, personalised sound controls, tinnitus FAQ’s & info, a user journal and more.
Users can access T-Minus content through a direct subscription with T-Minus, or via their existing Apple Music / Premium Spotify accounts.
The T-Minus app is formed around the unique sound therapy library being created by professional musician and tinnitus activist Rupert Brown. Sourcing sounds and influences from around the world, to accumulate deeply soothing and tinnitus specific sound and music tracks. T-Minus is evolving into a holistic tool to provide information and resources to those with the condition.
Supporting your tinnitus wellness by:
Reduced tinnitus symptoms, better sleep and relaxation
Sound therapy has been shown to affect people in these ways and T-Minus offers the most comprehensive tinnitus sound therapy library. With live, real time, non-looped recordings taken from all around the world, broadband sounds, fractal tones and binaural frequencies, accompanied by beautiful, relaxing music. The T-Minus library covers the majority of tinnitus frequencies to support ongoing tinnitus retraining therapy, habituation or just masking.
Control Through Personalisation
The sound controls section of the app, provides a frequency pure tone generator ranging from 200Hz to 20,000 Hz. Coloured noise playback, including Brown, Pink, White and Blue. Panning of sound, left and right to deliver sounds to an individual side. Volume controls to mix the settings and find the right match for your tinnitus. Personalisation and choice are important pre-requisites for longer term commitment to sound therapy.
Reduced anxiety Through Understanding
A key aspect to wellness is understanding the condition and the steps to take that might alleviate symptoms. We offer monthly webinars with tinnitus experts, the most frequently asked questions and answers for new tinnitus sufferers, a hub with the latest twitter feeds from the top global tinnitus charities and research bodies, plus information from relevant other specialists in the sleep and mindfulness worlds. We also offer regular Q&A’s with professionals in this field and users will be notified of up and coming peer to peer calls help periodically by T-Minus. The app also now includes a daily tip to help support good habits and practices.
Mindfulness
Whether for daily thoughts and feelings, a weekly gratitude diary or just marking down good and bad days. A journal can be a great way to re-establish your understanding of your own reactions and to become more mindful with your tinnitus. The app also include tinnitus specific guided meditations, focussing on breath work and areas of the body related to tinnitus symptoms.
This app’s innovative technology could also help reduce feelings of anxiety, depression, fatigue and insomnia, albeit it is not a substitute for professional medical advice and treatment.

Subscriptions can be made on either monthly or annual basis. Prices vary dependent on your specific location and currency.

Amazing variety of sounds

There is no other App with the variety of sound therapy, T-Minus is brilliant

App just freezes on both iPhone and iPad

On using Spotify with the app, the ‘agree’ button was unresponsive but when I closed the pane I was able to start playing the first album. I later tried to resume playing but found that once I selected an album and clicked on ’play’ the screen just froze. This is the same for both iPhone and iPad. Not a great start and very disappointing given the encouraging reviews.

Fantastic idea but the app is not accessible

The app is completely inaccessible for VoiceOver users and it’s a shame that developers don’t care about it

Thanks Rupert and team great app

Excellent & well researched App

This App has been well thought out and researched. The sound scapes that have been developed are truly amazing and as a tinnitus sufferer I find them very relaxing and actually reduce stress which in turn tones down the tinnitus. Unfortunately I am old school and like to own my music, so I don’t subscribe to any music services. As soon as my 3 month music service trial ends I am unlikely to continue. This is the only shortcoming that I can see. It’s a shame there isn’t an alternative option. When I first became affected by tinnitus I was lucky that I have an App developer in the family and asked them to help out. They developed an app to get me through my darkest days ‘SoundRelaxed’. This App is a step ahead, well presented, informative and it just works. Well done.

Thank you

This is fantastic. The App was super informative and easy to use. I was a bit sceptical when I first saw it, but I was quickly proved wrong. It has really helped. I can’t reccomend it highly enough. I am telling as many people as I can find, it has made a real difference to me.

Such a comfort

This is just what you need to help with the ringing. Such a fabulous collection of sounds to help you. A sleep timer would have made it 5 stars! Might that function be coming soon?!

Totally vague

Despite being unable to sign in through the app to my premium Spotify account on my iPad, I did manage to get somewhere on my iPhone. Once connected, I found the variety of sounds on offer to be more than enough for my needs, but...and it’s a big but, the lack of clear instruction on how to use the app was a major show stopper. Just exactly what am I supposed to do with the controls (that modify the ambient sounds). The instructions given are too vague. As a long term acute tinnitus sufferer, I’d really like to delve into the app properly, but ended up frustrated at the lack of guidance. I had no idea on how I balance the background sounds with the broad spectrum noise generation, and pure tones on offer. What am I trying to achieve here? Please provide better and more comprehensive guidance on how to use the app.

Five stars! Such relief! Wonderful!

Do get this App if you have tinnitus like me. Don’t hesitate. The sound quality and the range of sounds and the ability to tailor them with white or pink or brown noise etc plus a frequency pitch you can adjust are superb. It’s so much better than the generic Rain and Storms or Trickling Streams plus Beauty Spa music or White Noise type albums that you can buy or find on YouTube. It’s a comfort to me to know I have this App on my phone and can turn to it when my tinnitus gets annoying or if it interrupts my sleep. My particular favourites are “Priory Bay”, “Water”, “Cuban Cafe” and “Magestic” and I select low pink noise with these which I prefer to white noise and then add a frequency pitch just slightly deeper than the one that I can hear sometimes in my head. I’m pretty clueless with technology but the App is so easy to use and clearly labelled. It’s really nice to look at too. Clean and uncluttered with lovely images. Someone has put a lot of thought into the look of this not just the excellence of the sounds and what the App can do. Can’t recommend it highly enough. My thanks to the people who made it. I enjoy the daily quotes and snippets of tinnitus info too. A nice touch. Remember to tell yourself your tinnitus is just the noises in your head and nothing sinister. I try to think of my tinnitus as positively as possible and on quieter days it keeps me company - in fact on those good quieter days I tell myself it’s just distant fairy sleigh-bells which I’ll soon forget about and tune out. The British Tinnitus Association has done studies and found that many people can sleep as soundly as babies even though their tinnitus is as loud as others who sleep poorly. Don’t make a bogeyman of your tinnitus. Even people without it when put in a sound-proof room will start to hear the noises in their head. The brain gets bored too - it can’t keep listening in and “habituates” to the noise over time. And in the meantime there is this fabulous App. My thanks again to the people who created it.

Great sounds, but dodgy interface

Firstly, the recorded sounds and music accessed via Spotify (premium needed) are great. They cover a wide range and I expect they’d help mask all kind of tinnitus. The app works fairly well on iPhone, although the Spotify integration seems buggy- I have to keep logging in. The iPad version is pretty rubbish. In fact I’m having no success using it at all. The carousel style is badly implemented and requires far too much unintuitive swiping. And why can’t they all just be on one page? There aren’t that many options and the screen is big enough. And the artwork panes - what is the point of being able to wiggle them around? I’m just trying to access the controls and instead it all it does is let me wiggle them. Animation for the sake of animation. Also, the Spotify AGREE button doesn’t work so I can’t access the music.
