TangoRide - Carpooling

Join your neighbours and drive to save money. Tangoride is a real-time carpooling app that strengthens community connections through matching of drivers and passengers. A secure platform, identity verification, and ability to notify a close contact, are some of the safety features of TangoRide. By carpooling with TangoRide, you’ll reduce monthly commuting expenses, traffic congestion, and CO2 emissions. Good for your wallet, good for your community, good for the planet! 

Drivers can offer instant or scheduled trips to fellow passengers who are heading in a similar direction. This way, both parties can reduce the cost of their journey in a safe, social and enjoyable way.  

Using the app is easy to use once you’ve downloaded it from the Apple App Store.
Setting up an account – Passengers, you will need your email, mobile number, and a selfie to complete our ID verification. Drivers, you will need to provide the same information as a Passenger, along with your government issued provincial or territorial driver’s licence and photos of your vehicle. This is a precautionary measure to help keep our members safe, with all your information being securely processed through our accredited partner. When setting up your account you’ll enter the information above, plus a few more details for your personal profile. You will also enter your trusted contact’s details to allow the app to inform them when you’re accepting or offering a trip. Finally, we’ll ask for your payment or bank account details so that you can make or receive payments, all of which are processed securely by a trusted partner. A driver can switch between being a driver and being a passenger in the same account.
Once you’re account set-up is complete, your part of the TangoRide community! Carpooling with TangoRide strengthens neighbourhood connections through real-time matching of drivers and passengers. Enriching lives and helping to save the planet. That’s what the TangoRide community spirit is all about.
The process for offering or requesting a ride is as follows:
• Drivers who wish to travel to a particular destination are matched by the app with a passenger who wants to make a similar trip or is headed the same way.
• Drivers can select the radius of which they are willing to pick up and drop off passengers.
• If no passengers are matched, the app will continue searching whilet the driver is on the move. If a passenger is found, the app will notify the driver, who then chooses to accept or decline the journey.
• Once a match has been found, the app will notify the driver. The Driver then chooses whether to offer or decline a seat.
• If a passenger accepts an offer, they will secure a seat in the driver’s vehicle and the driver will proceed to the pick-up location. On arrival, both the passenger and the driver will confirm each other’s identity based on information displayed by the app.
• Start saving money as a driver, passenger, or both!
• Once both parties have verified each other, passengers will automatically pay drivers through the app and the trip begins. The total cost to the passenger is comprised of TangoRide’s service fee, and the reimbursement expenses, which will be paid to the driver.
• Once the trip has started, and payment has been processed, both the driver and passenger’s trusted contacts are notified that they are using Tangoride and the journey will commence.
• On completion of the journey, both parties will have the option of providing a rating and feedback.
