Fixed!!! no longer does Changing instruments destroy file. works well with Abc notation, midi, tef files. excellent with tabs now and switching. Please please add Files app support ie ios 11 folder support for 5 stars. Also open in please, as dropbox dead, no cloud. Support fixed & attended to issues reported, thank you Also allow custom instruments ie input for tabs eg x number of strings and string notes for lute and other custom stringings. Would be important to add solfege notation conversion (eg C D E F G to do re mi fa sol), can add as lyrics or a superscript option to midi and abc notation export/conversion which can be turned on/off.

Can't hear anything when I play the file. Tried all of the suggested fixes....still nothing. Mathieu sent me a fix. Much appreciated. Does everything I need!

The great features of the previous version are back and, guess what, they are better than ever. Really satisfied.

App is functional and useful, but very buggy with some poor design features. It spontaneously closed without saving a few times, sometimes it won't let you view the bar you're editing. The instruction manual is very incomplete, for example they don't tell you how to delete bars (it's in the tempo/key dialog box), I still don't know how to delete notes without either undoing or select/cutting (which you can't do with the editor palette open, why?), or how do I set it to swing eighth notes? Why can't I double tap to open a file? I needed it to work so I stuck with it, but it was a steep learning curve and many annoying idiosyncrasies thereafter. If I don't delete it in a fit of rage, I might go for the $20 full suite. Fifty fifty.

I purchased this on the App Store - started working with it and found it very confusing to work with and frankly buggy. Fair enough - just keep working and you'll get better. However when I went to save my work I found that I had to buy another version - pro - for $19.95! Now I don't know if that is 19.95 MORE than what I already paid or 19.95 LESS the original payment - and there is no app support it only takes you to the website which has the same information as the help file. So that is not good. FOLLOW UP OK so I managed to contact the developer and worked through the issues I had. In the end – I did upgrade to the PRO version for iPad so my investment is $25.00 – because in fact you cannot at present save more than 16 bars of a file - even one that you have created on an iPad – if it has been saved before. The Developer admitted that that was a bug and will be fixed. However – after working with this app for a few hours I found it to have an amazing amount of functionality. It is a great program. Furthermore – after connecting with the developer I found him to be very responsive and appreciative of the issues I had – and admitted that there were some things that needed improvement – so they get full marks for that. Therefore I have resubmitted my feedback and would very much recommend this app. I suggest that you should have a desktop version as well as the iPad version, or at the least invest in the iPad Pro version.

This is a terrific and fun app. I use it to run .tef and midi files to see tabs and also play tunes while fiddling. Lots of nice features such as being able to add instruments and adjust volume for background when playing, and to adjust speed of playback. The only thing I have found a bit wonky is if you stop a tune, it seems to start looping the music from that point onward. I'm not sure if there is a way to prevent that from happening. Otherwise, I think it is a great little app.

I've been looking and looking for a tab writing app for the iPad, and here it is ! Easy to use, and very customizable. Definitely one of my favorite apps.

Maybe because I use Apple iPad. But a lot of the promised features don’t seem to work.

I like this app and bought the pro version upgrade today but now the app has reverted to the LE version. Apple shows the pro purchase so what happened. Restoring the pro purchase was successful but I lost a significant amount of work.

I use this app for writing tab for bass guitar. I’ve tried other apps that offer similar functionality. None of them compare to the usability and completeness of TEFPad. There is a bit of a learning curve to get proficient with it. However, the more you use it the faster you get. I feel that there are some things that aren’t covered very well in the user guide. But I still give this app a full 5 stars. Do save your work in progress often, though. Also, the support from the developer is outstanding.
