I WOULD rate this app higher except that the very first exercise is made for folks who can stand and perform a “fencing” type exercise. Now that I’m permanently physically disabled with several limitations, trying to do those was a HUGE problem for me. Some days I can’t stand up much less bend as though fencing! I do some of my vocal exercises sitting upright, and others leaning against a wall. Apparently, you MUST be physically healthy to sing? I’m Juilliard trained and do many of those lessons from my previous coaches, and still sing well. I was hoping to add this to my vocal strengthening library. Disappointed.
Everything I need
My go-to app for warmups and exercises
Pay once
I’ve been using this for almost 9 years. I really appreciate you guys updating it. It might be expensive but for me it’s better that you pay once they have to pay monthly fooooooorrrrreeeeeeever…..
Talented vocal coach with easy to use app.
Look up this vocal coach (Sue M Carr) and you will see why this is a valuable on the fly practice app for vocalists. Incredible teacher, extremely technical and all heart. 68 and teaches metal bands in the Seattle area... sign me up.
Could be better
Too expensive for a few drill videos. The don’t even go up full octaves in the exercises to train the full vocal range.
It does have some good info.
Shakey video. I do most my training in the car so that’s not too big a deal.
I wish it had more exercises and full range octaves like other apps I use
Update!
Please update soon or it won't work with the latest iOS ☹️
Poorly designed app
The content is great, but the app itself is very poorly designed. It takes up more space than everything else on my phone combined, it crashes, some of the lessons won't open, and it's just sort of clunky to navigate. The teachers are great and seem to know what they're doing, but the app itself is riddled with technical issues.
Great App
I wasn't sure what to expect with this app, but I am very happy with my purchase. I took voice lessons for many years, and this app taught me some new tips & exercises as well as reinforced what I already knew.
Amazing app for ANY vocalist!
I'm an hip-hop MC/singer with a day job where I am speaking non-stop. My singing is influenced by gospel and rock so a lot of belting, growls, etc. Eventually because of my job and asthma I started to lose some of ability to belt i my high range. I watched the vids and built my warmup. Today was my first day going through my full warmup and singing. After ONE warmup my belting range was improved. ONE day. This is the best vocal warmup app you are going to buy. And I bought some of the others - which despite how much cheaper they were ended up being a waste of money. THANK YOU FOR THIS APP!
Fantastic tool for singers of all styles and skill levels.
I downloaded this on an impulse, not gonna lie. I had purchased other vocal warmup apps in the past, and was largely disappointed by the lack of real content and anything helpful in the way of actual tools for building the voice. The price on this one was a little bit of a shocker, but after reading through the details, I was willing to give it a shot. Plus the name sounds fun. But wow, once I opened it up and started viewing the video tutorials, I was glad I did. Now that I've been through the tutorials, I've made a custom playlist that I can sing along with while I drive to rehearsal.
I've been trying to focus on and improve my chest voice, as I've been given mostly the contralto parts of my a cappella group's repertoire. I sang along with the chest voice exercises in my car on the way to rehearsal one night, and I could not believe my own voice. Maybe my car has good acoustics, but it also carried over into my rehearsal. I have also worked on the head voice and head belt warmups, and they are also fantastic and creative. I've had some problems with singing loud enough, and I can already tell that these "lessons" are helping a lot. I already feel much more connected and in control of the power of my voice.
My only technical beef with the app is that the music does not stop upon removing the headphone jack, even if the phone itself is muted with the switch. I play it through the tape deck in my car, and as soon as I remove the plug, I have to make sure to also go back into the app and stop the warmup. Also, while I really appreciate that I can leave the app to look at/do something else and the warmup will keep playing, it does not move on to the next track in your warmup list unless you are actually in the app.
