Still crashing and now 6 days without paper, this is totally not acceptable when you pay good money to read on your tablet, I have asked for clarification on numerous occasions since Tuesday (19th Sep) when I updated my iPad and to date no response. At the very least there should be a refund, disgraceful.
You would have expected it to be updated when iOS 11 was issued Still not working on 23 Sep 17 - Keeps Crashing when opened
At present time July 2016 no videos on Chronicle app will play on an iPad ,just black screen and sound!
I used to look forward to downloading this and The Sunday Sun. Then the app died and would just sit there for days with"waiting". I tweeted the Chronicle a few times but not one response. Now the least I would have expected was a refund for the days nothing downloaded......yet again not a chuffing sausage. If my Newsagent didn't deliver my papers at least I'd get a response and my money back. I have deleted both these Apps from my IPad and you know I actually don't miss them. So be careful as it doesn't look like you will get your money back if it fails and what a nightmare to work out how to cancel the subscription.
Worst app ever don't waste your time.
Jumps all over the place, slow to respond, glad I didn't pay for it!
I have been reading the Chronicle on the iPad for years via Pressreader, which costs £6.49 per month. This new app is generally better than Pressreader. Pros Better quality (print & pictures better than PR) Released earlier Cons More expensive than PR No notifications (no matter what settings are used)
The editorial standards of the Chronicle have been on the slide for many years now, in line with its circulation, but it has no real competition for local news in the Newcastle area. There are some problems with the e-version to fix: Occasionally a single page is missing and filled with an error message. They are really sloppy about when the updates are made. On three days in the last week the paper was not available on print publication day. I reported the problem of to both the editor and their e-support but other than acknowledging the problem nothing has been done to fix it!
