The Granite YMCA

I love this app, I check in with it, I record my workouts, I do challenges , and I win reward points. So easy to use! I just LOVE having this app.

While I don’t love the pointification of working out for my own personality type… it’s hard to pass up the resulting discounts on my gym bills.

I really enjoy the challenges each month. The variety of classes keep your exercise goals doable and achievable. You are always reminded to work at your own level, but the instructors encourage you to push yourself a little further if possible.

My only gripe is that when an account is created on the Granite YMCA desktop site, it doesn’t automatically create an equivalent account on the app with the same password. Luckily, once you enter your info it will connect your accounts. So it’s a very minor inconvenience. Otherwise it seems to work perfectly fine for what I need. Simple to use, and easy to get to the barcode to scan into the gym.

More often than not, the app fails to load the log in screen, and if it does, it’s after a long lag. Despite being logged in to the app, one must navigate through multiple screens to log in AFTER navigating through multiple screens to get to the calendar reservations. It’s too clunky. When it’s easier to use the web browser, is the app really worth it?
