The Practice Co Devotionals

This app has been a wonderful addition to my day! Even as someone new to faith and a bit unsure still I’m really comforted and lifted up by these messages. They are simple and easy to understand with a profound lesson within each one. I love the wallpapers to use too! I had a bit of trouble with my subscription but support reached out immediately and helped me out (just waited 24 hr for it to be activated 😂) but they were on top of it none the less! Really appreciate an app that makes me feel good in any time of need.

The creator of this has not only gone off saying she’s not identifying as a Christian anymore but is coming after Christians on her social media. She is acting in direct opposition of God and openly giving the middle finger to salvation. The way this app presents in the store in incredibly misleading (borderline fraudulent) in its nature. This is not an app to turn to for your walk with Christ.

Purchased a Christian app written by Liz Milani and instead got an anti-Christian rhetoric written by a progressive named Joy. Supremely disappointed.

Thank you for all the work you put in here Liz! Sometimes it’s unsettling and sometimes grounding and sometimes both. The messages have enriched my life and helped me grow internally.

I have never written a review of an app before. My 2 year experience with this app has brought healing, hope and joy back into my life and has helped me in my journey in leavening church behind and learning to live in the grace afforded me through the power of the death and resurrection of Jesus and through my growing openness to the love and leading of the Holy Spirit.

This app has been such a God-send to me on my deconstruction journey. If you are looking for something that is thought-provoking and soul-soothing, you’ve come to the right place. Liz has obviously been where I am going, and her writings, along with guest writers, plumb the depths of deep spiritual questions and come out with encouragement and hope for an exciting future. I saw several others mention the price. I don’t even know what I pay for this, but I don’t care. It is the most valuable app I have, with nuggets that I continually share on Instagram because they’re just too good to keep to myself! Do yourself a favor and get this app. I’m literally amazed almost every single day at how the writings speak to me.

The Practice fills me with fresh ideas on my faith journey and gives me interesting topics to mull over each day. It’s a reminder of God’s (or whatever you want to call God) love for me, just as I am. And invites me to BE who I was created to be. It deepens my faith and for that, I’m thankful.

I usually end up unsubscribing to lifestyle and spirituality newsletters because it’s not worth the time and online clutter. I continue with The Practice Co because it’s an authentic, thought provoking deeper dive into divine truths that encourages personal growth and is written in an interesting way with practical value. This week’s newsletter was of particular interest to me. I’m a child therapist, and a book I often read to children on the theme of flexibility uses the metaphor of being a palm tree (flexible) versus an oak tree. And every time I read it to children, I have a nagging thought about how oak trees represent reliability and integrity to me. So the way The Parctice Co writer broke down the fine points on differences was practical both in my work and spiritual life.

A different kind of devotional: grounded in practicality and written in a language and a cadence that speaks to my soul. This has been a lifeline for me in times of chaos, a place and moment to pause and to open and to accept. It speaks to my belief system that is truly rooted in a Christ-like life with evidence of God’s love and presence found absolutely everywhere. Thank you, Liz, for finding the words to heal and revitalize my soul.

In all honesty, I have NOT been very good at sticking to reading plans or devotionals. I have a full page list of devotionals I’ve begun & have not finished within my Bible app. However, somehow, with this devotional, I’ve been consistent & have completed at least 5 - 6 plans (new personal best). This is largely due to how rich & insightful the writings are! They do a great job at speaking into the places and spaces of life that connect with one another. It honors the complexity of life by writing in such a way that leaves room for healthy ambiguity, and individual processes to fill in the blanks. It leads you to think differently about your thoughts, emotions, spirituality, and how they influence one another. It’s filled with mindful prompts that are always profound. Less homework-ish & more meditation-y. When reading, you can tell the authors have been through some stuff with regards to the rigidity of church, religion, and traditional ways of thinking. Some of that old pain bleeds through in the content, but there is something about that rawness & authenticity that makes the insight relatable rather that coming from a place of “I have overcome this”. I go to this app most mornings of the week, and I usually never regret taking those 10 minutes to dig into my own heart & get honest about what’s there. Thank you for helping to facilitate a more meaningful connection to myself and what makes me, me.
