The Rise of the Golden Idol

I took a chance and tried this detective game out, not sure what to expect but typically enjoying puzzle games and “whodunit” type stories. Without spoiling it, all I can say get ready for some mind puzzles and a very wild story with plot elements that will make “momento” fans happy. Definitely pick up the game and I really hope we get more from these developers!

I’m so enthralled with these games, they give me just the peace and clarity. It’s absolutely amazing. I just wish I could use a controller instead of a touchscreen.

Spectacular game and IPad is best way to play

honestly i didn’t know what to expect when i downloaded this game but i was completely blown away. this game is not only very well thought out and enjoyable but also challenging! finished the whole game and in like 2 days and cannot wait for more!

I went into this game with no expectations because—let's face it—Netflix game offerings have been very uneven. Other than the games that were popular BEFORE appearing on Netflix, I've not really liked any—except maybe Storyteller and Scriptic. This game is SO GOOD, I just couldn't stop until I was gone. I barely slept over the weekend and played feverishly, taking notes, and replaying parts where I had missed the clues the first time. It has been a most captivating experience! I hope there is a third in this series and a fourth! WELL DONE!!!

a great puzzle game with a, while at first confusing, great story line. I also enjoy the fact that it has a full, complete story line where everything connects and later comes to make sense. Hope there is more coming to the game, and if not, it’s still has a sastifying conclusion.

Man this game has pulled me in. I was rather bored of mobile games. Even COD. I have been on a Murder Mystery movie kick lately and I was scrolling through Netflix and saw this game pop up. I cannot put it down. Solid game. Solid play. Pretty cool story so far.

First out of the gate. Id like to say playing on ipad I had zero technical issues like some reviews I have read. Never locked out stuck on any chapters. Everything just worked and could navigate in and out of scenarios and chapters freely. Touchscreen interface is fantastic for this game. As far as the game itself. Fantastic. If you like the first game. Id say this one is even better. The story was a great continuation and how it loops back on itself this game is pretty great. Id say it successfully brings the golden idol to the modern age (Well the 70’s at least) in a logical manner respecting the lore of the first game while seamlessly integrating into modern corporate Western society with how things might play out. Continues to be a fun look at societal woes and a cautionary tale. The puzzles were fantastic. I greatly enjoyed every chapter. Everything you need to solve is there without too many false difficulty ramps to artificially increase difficulty. You do need to pay attention to the context of the story and other chapters to get some clues when solving the puzzles. Which is mainly were I got tripped up towards the end before correcting. The difficulty ramp feels good and the last chapter is hard, but satisfying when you solve it. I actually had to break out pen and paper for the last one in the docks. But by and large you dont need to do that as the side objectives you will solve in each chapter largely act as replacement for a written notebook, and organically help you solve some of the logic challenges you would need written down to solve the main mystery. Eagerly looking forward to DLC like the last game, as there are more than a couple loose ends left open. Fans of the first game or games like Obra Dinn should greatly enjoy this.

I had written this one off after experiencing a game-breaking bug that prohibited further progress after Chapter 2, but the bug was fixed and the game now works perfectly. Well done!

I’ve never written a review on any game I’ve ever played before so when I tell you this game is top-tier, it’s TOP-TIER. Personally, I think this game was very well-made and it really captivated me unlike anything else. I finished this game in 4 to 5 days because I quite literally could not enough. I just wanna congratulate the devs because they created something I’ve never seen before, and it drew me in entirely. The storyline was so interesting and so enjoyable and this game is so well-made and so different. Thankfully, I did not experience any bugs personally so I made the gameplay really enjoyable. So now I’m gonna ask that you please please add another storyline or make another game with the same structure because I’ve never enjoyed anything more.
