KEY FEATURES
• Your To-Dos
Your basic building block is the almighty To-Do—each a small step toward a great accomplishment. You can add notes, tag it, schedule it, and break it down into smaller steps.
• Your Projects
Create a Project for any big goal, then add the to-dos to reach it. Use headings to structure your list as you outline your plan. There’s also a place to jot down your notes, and a deadline to keep you on schedule.
• Your Areas
Create an Area for each sphere of your life, such as Work, Family, Finance, and so on. This keeps everything neatly organized, and helps you see the big picture as you set your plans in motion.
• Your Plan
Everything on your schedule is neatly laid out in the Today and Upcoming lists, which show your to-dos and calendar events. Each morning, see what you planned for Today and decide what you want to do. The rest is down to you :)

MORE THINGS TO LOVE
As you dive deeper, you’ll find Things packed with helpful features. Here are just a few:
• Reminders — set a time and Things will remind you.
• Repeaters — automatically repeat to-dos on a schedule you set.
• This Evening — a special place for your evening plans.
• Calendar integration — see your events and to-dos together.
• Tags — categorize your to-dos and quickly filter lists.
• Quick Find — instantly locate to-dos, headings, or tags.
• Type Travel — jump from list to list with your keyboard; just start typing!
• Magic Plus — drag the + button to insert to-dos anywhere in a list.
• Share extension — create to-dos with content from other apps.
• Widgets — see lists on your home/lock screens.
• Mail to Things — forward an email to Things; now it’s a to-do.
• Markdown — structure & style your notes.
• And much more!

MADE FOR IPAD
Things is tailored to the iPad, with excellent pro features as well. Chief among them is the outstanding support for your keyboard & trackpad. You can edit your to-dos without touching the screen, utilize plenty of shortcuts, and navigate your lists at blistering speed—just start typing!
“Things has the best implementation of external keyboard support I’ve ever seen in an iPad app.”
—Federico Viticci, MacStories
You can also enjoy a beautiful dark mode at sunset, connect your calendars, open multiple windows, add a variety of widgets, scribble with Apple Pencil, create to-dos via Siri, import from Reminders—Things can do it all! There’s even Shortcuts integration if you want to automate your workflows.

AWARD-WINNING DESIGN
Made in Stuttgart, with two Apple Design Awards to its name, Things is a fine example of German engineering: designed not only to look fantastic, but to be perfectly functional as well. Every detail is thoughtfully considered, then polished to perfection.
“It’s like the unicorn of productivity tools: deep enough for serious work, surprisingly easy to use, and gorgeous enough to enjoy staring at.”
—Apple

It has great flow management, organizing tasks, quick inbox shortcut, and many more features that I love! Welldone team, you just crafted the best task management app I've ever used! Just purchased the iPhone and Mac app too!

Crashing

Is it time for an update? The iOS app has been unstable lately and is crashing frequently, especially, when I try to search tasks. Any plan for things 4?

Game-Changer for My Workflow

girlscantwhat on

After a deep dive with ChatGPT into my unique working style, Things 3 came highly recommended—and wow, was it spot on. This app is everything I didn’t know I needed. It’s clean, intuitive, and powerful without being overwhelming. I’ve tried so many task managers over the years, but Things just gets how my brain works. Since switching, my productivity has skyrocketed. I love how easy it is to capture ideas, organize projects, and stay focused without constant tweaking. It’s now the backbone of my daily workflow, and I honestly can’t imagine going back. Total game-changer.

Clean, Powerful, but Unintuitive

GTD Meister on

Pluses: 1) Clean, attractive interface; 2) Subtle & Powerful features once you find them 3) One & done—buy once, cry once. No subscriptions!! Minuses: 1) Unintuitive, rather steep learning curve. So-so tutoring resources. Have to go YouTube for help. 2) Powerful features buried, proprietary names for features. 3) No web interface—WHY?!? 4) Apply only, no Windows or Android. 5) Difficult to try before you buy.

Dearly LOVE this app, but not a recent change…

Time fails me to describe how much I love and use this app. I regret spending more time here, describing my one complaint, than my thousands of reasons I love this app. However, this complaint is only written in high hopes that it will precipitate a fix from the fantastic Things 3 team. Here’s the problem…. It used to be that when simply moving a task from “Evening” to “Day” or from “Day” to “Evening,” that task would go—very nicely and predictably—to the very top of either of those portions of the list—which aided in task shuffling speed and efficiency (especially for task-heavier days). However, ever since one of the most recent updates, now moving any task from “Evening” to “Day” places that task somewhere at the BOTTOM of “Day” (instead of the top, and even then not always exactly at the bottom—it might be 2nd or 3rd or more from the bottom, with no discernible pattern to this new behavior). On the other hand, more often than not, when moving a task from “Day” to “Evening”; the task does not move to the very top of that portion of the list; but often randomly must be sought for and found within the first 8 to 10 items at the top of that list (again, no clear discernible pattern to this logic, either). If one’s lists were only 20-50 items (light users); this may not matter so much. However, for heavier (power users), who may have hundreds of tasks to prioritizie and timeline each day; this becomes a cumbersome and unnecessary speed bump. Please fix! Long story short, I use this app so much, it is not unusual for me to have 500 to 900+ tasks on a given day. That many tasks require a lot of sorting coupled with a lot of efficiency—or list fatigue becomes impossibly overwhelming! So this new (presumed) glitch, causing this new unpredictability in every-day, simple task moves is not helpful, but detrimental and a drag to productivity. Otherwise, I still LOVE and use Things 3–more than any other app on my devices! As a very heavy user of this app, I humbly feel I have decent feedback on what improves this app, versus what does not. Much gratitude, in advance, to the great Things 3 team, for considering / fixing this unnecessary glitch / problem.

Shopping List Magic

Elnora on

I use this to create my shopping lists, then go through each list as I shop by checking things off on my Apple Watch. It’s so helpful! I keep a separate Project for each store and make a heading for each department, adding emojis next to the heading name to easily find the one I want. The headings are in order according to the layout of the store. I make new To Dos, then drag them below the appropriate heading. After I check one off, I can later find it in the archived items, and if I uncheck in the archive, the item automatically re-appears under the correct heading. This app is genius!

I want more

Things 3 is the best app I’ve ever used. It does exactly what it says it will do, and it’s super simple and easy to use. It syncs seamlessly between my devices, and I even switched from Windows to Mac just so I could use Things 3 as my project management tool. But, I do wish they’d add a few more features. Things is probably the only app I wish was subscription-based because I’d love to see a faster development cycle. Cultured Code spends way too much time making things perfect. I often feel frustrated by the lack of features that would make my life easier, like the ability to attach images or files, a kanban view, a more robust time-blocking feature, or saved searches or smart lists. Honestly, I think they need an API so that it integrates with other apps better. I’m sure Cultured Code has already decided what kind of workflow they want to support with Things, but there aren’t any other apps that I’ve found with more features that can deliver the user experience that Things delivers. So, I always end up coming back to it, even though I have to do some complicated workarounds to do things to link files or notes. Oh, and as long as I’m on the subject, I’d love to see the team at Cultured Code release more apps. Imagine a mail app, calendar, or note-taking app designed by them! In short, I love this app, and I really love Cultured Code. I just wish they’d be a bit more ambitious because they make the best stuff. I’d love to buy more things from them.
