The app is extremely buggy and needs attention. But on the plus side, it's so broken that you may not need to pay for it (my 7-day free trial in 2023 never expired). Issues include: 1. Unjustifiably high data usage. 2. Forms remember your settings, but the settings don't get applied when you start a puzzle. 3. Puzzles often don't get marked as complete when solved. 4. Some of the puzzle interfaces are fiddly to the point of frustration. Overall the app design isn't bad and it has most of the features that I’d want or expect. But unfortunately it's let down by poor execution. I'll continue to use it until the free access glitch is patched, but I wouldn't consider (or recommend) paying for something that's this broken.
Very annoying as it no longer stores any data. So if you can’t complete or come out of a puzzle it deletes everything. All your answers and workings. Something has changed as it never use to do this.
As the title says, the app no longer saves progress when leaving a puzzle before it’s completed - resetting the grid. It also always shows time taken as “00:00” when completing a puzzle.
Please add Train Tracks to this app!!! This app is okay… the puzzles work and can be done relatively easily without technical complications. But it’s annoying that you complete a puzzle and it says ‘In Progress’ and you have to go back in to undo a move and redo to make it show completed. The developers need to take a good look at the NYT Puzzle app to see how well this could be done. Times puzzles are fantastic and there’s a real opportunity to gain young subscribers with an exciting and easy to use interface.
Have used on iPad, largely without significant issue. Started using on iPhone and crosswords will only open with WiFi, despite strong internet connection (5g). Presume this isn’t as designed… any fixes??
I always enjoy these puzzles but now the app is failing. Concise quintagram won’t take the selected letters and polygon loses the entries you have made when you come back later. Didn’t used to be like that and ruins the app.
Trying to raise above issue with app support using email provided but just keep getting responses related to iOS levels. This issue has arisen since latest app version released.
Absolutely refuses to open on my iPad - just opens with a white screen for half a second and then crashes completely. Absolutely shocking that you want to charge a subscription for an app that has obviously not been tested.
As of last few days app has just totally stopped working and just crashes before it open properly. On the back of the horrible UX it’s now looking like a total waste of money. Reported to Apple.
