Failings

I have used this App for almost 10 years and have been very impressed. Am in Europe at the moment and the App frequently will not search a destination. Just says ‘ No route available’. Also the audio voice will not work. I have all the instructions to correct these issues to no avail. I cannot get a response from anybody to help me so am very frustrated and looking for an alternative App.

New speed zones in New Zealand - not updated

Love the App - only issue is that the speed zones have dropped from 100 to 80 or 70 all over New Zealand and the app has not updated to the 2021 changes. Especially Napier rural.

Good but frustrating

The GOOD. the traffic is spot on. amazing when side by side with apple and google maps. the alternative routes are excellent too. the side bar is good. The BAD. locks you out when there is a map update. updates are VERY slow to download. so i find a revert to apple maps 1/4 of the time. Also it’s slow to load (30 seconds +) WOULD LIKE. turn by turn on the car dash like apple maps and in car navigation does. i think apple blocks this. SUMMARY. good but frustrating.

Old school

You forget how good tomtom is when you use your phone. But add this to your car play it’s perfect.

Out of date maps and kills my phone battery

I tried this for about 2 weeks and kept finding my iPhone battery getting badly depleted due to background use of this app. I also found that the maps in my area of NZ were badly out of date, missing roads and speed limits were out of date by 2 years. So I have had to uninstall it as it is unusable for me.

Great app. But can’t get rid of it showing petrol stations. Would like it to show charge stations instead

Utter sh1t

You have to pay for a subscription before you can even use it.

Reliable. Easy to use

I have used many other maps. This is the best. Easy to use. Easy to add places abd favourites. Easy to remember where you parked the car! Very well priced. You won’t regret purchasing. Comprehensive maps. Often updated. I like the ability to change the route to walking. Cycling. Missing toll roads. Great product thanks.

Too hard

I’ve been trying to change maps on my iOS TomTom GO for two hours now, and I’m getting nowhere. It doesn’t have to be this hard, surely?

Lack of flexibility

Having owned numerous Tom Tom GPS units through the years, the new format has some good features, like the route bar and it’s traffic warnings. The old products had far mor flexibility and features. Colour selection for better visibility on motorcycles where sun and reflection is a constant is highly limited and sometimes practically non visible. The speed camera button will only work once in every 10 tries. So much for assisting other travellers. Quick selection buttons disappeared with the new button and only “home” and “work” still exist. The GPS is slow to the point of being irritating.
