Transport for Edinburgh

It's unbelievably bad that it's not possible to buy tickets for the transport in the same app as you use to plan your trip. It's also amazingly stupid that you can not purchase only one ticket in the app, but have to buy for £10. And since the ticket is only valid for five minutes, it's not possible to change bus without buying another ticket. As if it wasn't enough with stupidness, the tickets for bus and trams are the same, but the tickets are different. It's almost as if the city of Edinburgh doesn't want people to use the public transport, and especially not visitors. Why would a visitor want to purchase tickets for £10? Or how could visitors now that you need exact change to buy a ticket? As if it wasn't stupid enough to only be able to pay with cash on board.

Whenever you try to time your trips the maps won’t work cos it’s dumb

Helpful to tell you the bus and routes to get. However, absolutely useless for getting a bus on time. It will tell you when to leave and sometimes, if you search by stop how far away it is- it is NOT accurate. It’s more often than not, complete falsification.

Bus and Tram is great when it woks. More and more frequently however, it is rife with “network error” messages and “Ghost Buses”. Aka, Huey up or you will miss it, only to arrive and find the bus you were tracking disappears or never arrives. Been this way for years.

I understand that times are estimated etc but don’t put busses on the tracker if there not actually coming also terrible service around Edinburgh and lothians

App is great when it works but quite often it doesn’t load all the buses leaving me with no clue when they are coming. So many roadworks and delays don’t help I’m sure but it makes it even more important to be able to track accurately.
