Trash Panda Food Scanner

And I was recommending this app widely. Today I could not take a picture of the ingredients even though I had five uses left for this month. I guess the upside is I’m about to free up a little storage space on my phone. It was a great app though! Maybe someone else will make a free one and make money off advertising instead of devoted users.

I heard about Trash Panda a while back. It was free to download and free to use. You use your phone to scan the barcode on any food item. Trash Panda would automatically tell you what’s not good in the ingredients. They would also list the ingredients that were questionable. Then Trash Panda would list all the ingredients and give you an explanation why this or that was listed as bad or toxic for the body. Trash Panda is a very helpful tool if you are trying to eat cleaner. And, to be more informed what certain chemicals can do to your body. I was very happy using it until yesterday. I had 2 scans left before I received a message saying you had to now pay $40.00 a year to use the app. I know that sounds like so little to pay for such a great tool. I was just surprised because when I first downloaded the Trash Panda app, there was nothing I saw that told me I only had X amount of scans before I had to pay. I realize everything has gone up in price. I just wanted everyone to know the app is not free anymore. I do recommend using Trash Panda. It helps you learn to read labels and keep the toxic chemicals out of your body. Trash Panda is very helpful and I recommend using it. Just remember, it’s not free to use any longer.

They were first free with unlimited scans a few months back now only 5 a month !?!? Ridiculous

Before the app really took off it was completely free in every kind of way I don’t care for all the extras but required to pay for more scans is ridiculous shame on you for turning something very good into a money making scheme as always.

I really liked this app when you could scan as much as you wanted. But only 5 free scans a month is nothing. Healthy food is already so much more expensive to budget for and now they want $40 a year to use this?!??

Latest app version crashes when asking for dietary restrictions. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I must express my dissatisfaction with your decision to place the barcode scanning feature behind a paywall. As a consumer who is willing to invest in worthwhile applications, I find this business model particularly questionable for an app whose primary function is to evaluate food products' health attributes. Equating the cost of this service with that of comprehensive calorie counting app WHICH I PAY THE SAME $39.99 for does not reflect the relative value provided for this app. Furthermore, considering your app is not among the top-rated in the health category, the justification for this pricing strategy is even less tenable. Regrettably, this approach does not meet my expectations for value or innovation, and I will be discontinuing my use of your service. I hope you will reconsider your strategy moving forward.

I love all the information this app gives me when I’m shopping. I have some dietary restrictions, and trash panda helps me quickly check items before I buy. I use it every week!

The Trash Panda app makes shopping for my family so easy! The shopping lists section is my favorite feature because it gives me healthy ideas for weekly dinners.

This has been such a great app to make sure I’m giving my kids healthy food options.
