Treadmill Smart Speed

Just purchased dosent show up on my iPhone under Bluetooth on zwift as of 12/12/23 all devices currently upto date.

This worked really well with zwift running but recently stopped. Maybe due to a zwift update?

I had high hopes for this app, but it doesn’t deliver, at least not for me. It transmits information very intermittently. Whether on the manual speed mode or the phone accelerometer mode, there is a hefty lag in updating the speed on Zwift. (I’ve tried with two different iPhones, and two different WiFi networks, and it makes no difference which I use.) The phone accelerometer mode is largely useless: the speed recorded bears little relation to how the phone is actually moving. (I don’t have an Apple Watch so can’t evaluate that mode.) The most unforgivable element, though, is the disclaimer, which has to be tapped away every time you try to change modes. Since you may be putting the phone in your pocket or otherwise turning off the screen while running with it, this means you are constantly tapping through the disclaimer. This certainly raises your heart rate but not in a healthy way. Nintendo did this perfectly with the jogging element of Wii Fit. Put the controller in your pocket and the on-screen character matches your running speed quite adequately. Why is it that, fourteen years on, it seems to be impossible to replicate this simplicity and reliability with Zwift or anything else?

Armband doesn’t work

‘Does what it says on the tin’. I was going to splash out £200 on a Stryd pod, but the manual control option gives perfect control over your Zwift speed in relation to your Treadmill. Great if you have an iwatch too. I was hoping for this kind of option, and this app provides it. Very well laid out screen and worked perfectly straight away. Ideal with an Apple TV box, and forgiving if you have a cheaper treadmill.

I’ve been using zwift run for a while but I found my foot pod not very accurate at variable speeds. This app was suggested and I’ve not looked back. I use this app for the speed transmitter and my foot pod for cadence. It’s great. Only suggestion would be to have the app able to work in the background. If I go to my music app the this app stops transmitting

It doesn’t pick up my speed from when wearing it on my body, and the treadmill is in speed rather than pace. Armband doesn’t work, so pretty useless. Running is done in minutes per mile/km, not mph!
