True Backgammon

To the developer: Why is it that 100% (yes, 100%) of the time, the AI has two or more players in your home region and is fairly blocked, gets double 5’s or 6’s and out they go into their home region. This never fails to happen (never) and it’s extremely frustrating. I could understand once in a while, but every single time??? And you call this random?? How can one expect to win even occasionally if the CPU rolls doubles practically every other roll and picks off your players almost every time. This game infuriating. I don’t mind losing occasionally but this is ridiculous. If I rolled doubles as often (almost every time) as the cpu, I would be winning 95% of the time. This game is ludicrous. Clearly, when you play in advanced mode, the cpu has the advantage—ability has little to do with it. It doesn’t matter how good of a player you are. 99% of the time, the dice rolls favor the cpu, not the player. To those of you who are thinking of purchasing this game, save your money. It’s not worth it/////So I’m playing a match to 9, I’m ahead 8-2. One would think that I could win one game out of 6. But the cpu wins every game because every other roll is a double and every, yes every time, it picks me off and of course I can’t get back in. This made it impossible to win one lousy game. Random dice rolls? NOT!/////Lets see, your opponent consistently gets doubles almost every other (sometimes every time) time and picks off your unguarded pucks almost every time? Who’s going to win?? I’d like to play the developer a real game and see if he has the same random rolls//////Maybe it’s impossible to program this game to be completely random but when the cpu rolls 5 doubles in a row?? 😒 Give me a break//////This game is absolutely the most ridiculous game ever developed by anyone—the easy mode is laughably too easy to win and the advanced mode is near impossible to win because 98% of the CPU’s rolls are programmed to make it just that. It’s a Catch 22—it doesn’t matter how good of a player you are, the game is programmed to make to make winning impossible.//////This game is utterly ridiculous. Obviously the cpu is favored to win with all the numerous doubles and your pucks getting knocked out to the degree that never happens in real life games. It can be fun but it’s mostly frustrating

Great game. Smart computer! Please allow the doubling cube to be doubled as it was before. Now it says you can’t double if enough points are in reach to already win the game

Say what you will about whether or not the dice are “loaded”, but I bought the $3.99 upgrade and all I can say is if this game were my best friend, I would never play against him ever again he’s so lucky, and probably disown him for making me so upset.

I learn a lot from this app. It really is the best one I’ve found anywhere on the Internet. Keep up the good work, developers!

This is all around a nice backgammon app. It there is room for improvement. Paid Tutor: 1. it should not suggest to double if you have “Ask First” turned on. 2. I would love to get an in game explanation about why a certain move was bad and why the suggestion is better if tutor suggestions are turned on. Maybe in the future this could be connected to a generative AI model to generate explanations or link to chatGPT if you have an account. 3. The analysis of the game is difficult to understand. Some kind of contextual guide would be helpful 4. An additional mode of the games that shows the equity loss/gain while on screen 5. A sandbox to set up scenarios and understand probabilities 6. More help on when to use the doubling cube Other: 3. Play online seems to take a while to find a player and most of the time it hasn’t worked for me

Gamecenter games with others are freezing a lot. When the game ends it just freezes.

Although I think this is the best, most attractive and easy to play Backgammon I have tried, once in a great while it seems to malfunction, and not let me move for a roll. Very very occaisionally. There is one thing that totally bugs me: everytime I load the game, this damned GameCenter dialog box shows up. I will never use game center, and likely will never play an online game with anyone. The Game Center requestor should be optional, not in my face every time I load the game. There is really nothing I have tried that I like better. I hate all of the ones with absurdly fancy graphics or themes. I prefer the beauty of the simplicity of this game! Much more realistic, like the physical board game, only more portable. Buy it!!!

I am just amazed at the idiocy of the programmers of this game. They broadcast in the game that they use random rolls. What a crook, I have never seen a backgammon game CHEAT as much as this. It just goes to prove AI is idiotic and the people programming it more so, knowingly cheating. It won’t let me give it a zero. So I just give it NO CLASS

I love this game. The dice are fair. The design is simple. The only feature I would add to this game would be a pip counter.
