TV Remote combines a beautiful and simple interface with advanced features that enable you to control your television without the need for a physical remote. Add all of your televisions to TV Remote and you’ll be able to customize the layout, apply themes and interact through Widgets and Siri Shortcuts.

TV Remote contains these great features:
UNIVERSAL REMOTE
TV Remote supports many brands of TVs (see below) and makes it easy for you to setup each one in a single app. You’ll find the buttons you’re used to seeing and there’s even the ability to launch apps and switch sources too.

INTERACTIVE WIDGETS
Remote commands can be added to your Home Screen or Lock Screen for quick access to your remote when you need it. There’s supports for launching apps, sources and changing channels all from a Widget too and with Interactive Widgets, you won't even need to open the app!

SIRI SHORTCUTS
Without even opening the app, you’ll be able to perform commands, change channels, launch apps and more with the Siri Shortcuts integration! For example, you’ll be able to configure a string of commands together to change a specific setting on your TV without even lifting a finger.

LIVE ACTIVITIES
Get access to a set of configured commands on your Lock Screen or Dynamic Island that allows you to quickly change channels, adjust volume and much more - all without opening the app!

CUSTOM LAYOUTS
TV Remote gives you the ability to fully customize how you want the remote for each TV to look. Using a set of pre-configured layout components, you’ll be able to choose which buttons go where so you get the exact look you’re after.

THEMES
Gone are the days of a plain remote! With TV Remote, you can be bold and design the exact look and feel of your television remote - even down to the icon tint on a button, and whether buttons are round or square. Each television has its own theme and there are plenty of presets to choose from too. You can even lock the app to light/dark mode.

KEYBOARD
No need to use arrow keys to navigate round an on-screen keyboard. With TV Remote, you’ll have access to a full keyboard you can use to search for programmes and more!

CHANNELS, APPS & SOURCES
TV Remote will load the available channels, apps and sources available on your television and allow you to launch them with just a tap.

WAKE FROM SLEEP
TV Remote supports Wake-on-LAN to allow you to power on your television when it is asleep.

TOUCHPAD
Control your television using swipe gestures on a touchpad instead of the standard directional keypad for a more fluid experience.

SYNCING
TV Remote syncs with your iCloud account to allow you to access your TVs across all your devices.

TV Remote supports televisions from these manufacturers and operating systems (+ many more!):
- LG/webOS
- Samsung/Tizen
- Sony
- Roku

Waste of money

Downloaded this for it to crash time and time again. Did not connect to tv or even detect. Considering I have a iPhone 11(pretty up to date) and latest updates. For this app to not work once with the price tag still attached. Very disappointing. Was hopeful looking at the photos and honestly, if it pans out to what it looks in the photos then the price is very reasonable. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE SORTED

Well designed TV remote app, but

Sadly it doesn’t support my TCL Google TV. I hope it will someday.

TV Permission

arkanghell on

Would be a great app if it actually worked. On Apple Watch if it actually worked and didn’t ask for permission from the TV every single time which forces you to use the remote, repeatedly which defeats the purpose of the app.,3&&&

Works somewhat

brook abbera on

It works great but for some reason after usage on my samsung tv it makes me allow it’s permissions tv and it gets annoying after a while i can’t figure out how to make it just work automatically without me needing an actual remote

Stopped working after a day

Imntru on

This was great when it worked, but kept giving me a “this device requires approval to access your tv” message on the tv which defeats the purpose of the thing if I have to find the remote in order to approve an input every time. I can’t imagine paying for an app that doesn’t even work.

Liking this bar one missing feature

Clarkezone on

This is a pretty awesome remote app, particularly due to the rich support for widgets. The one feature that appears to be missing as far as I can tell is there is no way of creating a widget to wake up the TV. The power button widget works to turn the TV off but not on and there doesn’t appear to be a wake action that can be mapped. With this gap filled, this would be a pretty perfect app. Great job!

Would Love To Use

Mister Ian on

Would love to use this app, unfortunately, the app recognizes my television on the network, recognizes the manufacturer (Samsung) and then errors out telling me that the IP address isn’t correct. Disappointing because other apps have had no problem connecting, but I would have preferred to use this because of the Shortcuts support. For reference, my TV is a bit older (UN50KU6300) but the fact that other apps connect easily and this app recognizes the device seems like it should be a no brainer to me.

Developer is very responsive to feedback

Selurple on

I primarily use this app for creating home theater routines in Shortcuts, and it works very well for that. I’ve had issues with a couple updates breaking functionality and requiring me to redo them, but the dev clearly cares about making the app as good as possible, so a few growing pains along the way are understandable. There’s still some mild quirks (shortcuts that run multiple TV commands in a row run slower than comparable apps I’ve tried, and with the current update I had to redo every TV Remote step twice for the settings to “stick” due to an odd bug that seemed to assume every option was set to “ask me every time” regardless of what was entered) but nothing that’s remotely a dealbreaker or doesn’t have an easy workaround. Oh and if you’re not a nerd like me that likes making big dumb scripts to control every aspect of their home theater with Siri, this is also BY FAR the best standard TV Remote app I’ve used on the iPhone, and I’ve used a lot of ‘em. Clean, functional, and lots of great options that you may or may not ever need but are there if you do.

Paid for once now they try to get me to pay again

Supercomicgirl on

I paid for this back in 2021. I only ever use it to adjust volume. Now the app has updated for a constant ‘tv remote premium’ that will pop up while I’m turning the volume down and will get selected since it pops up where the volume down button was. I will then get redirected to a purchase page. I already bought this app. I have to then go back and drag the remote up to access the now hidden down volume button. Remove the banner. You should not be trying to force purchases on me when I already paid.

Worth EVERY penny.

As a published app developer, I can tell you there are many remote applications that do a few things somewhat well. This one pretty much nails, everything it attempts. Spend the full 20 bucks and get it lifetime.
