Very frustrating.

I agree with Tyler as this is incredibly difficult and awful way to upload the medical ID.

I just download the App. I am a manager, over seeing field operations on projects in commercial construction so I was looking for a simple way to help myself and those whom I work with in the event of an emergency. Being able to have a safe, accessible place for a first responder to get your media history, insurance, and loved ones contact information is priceless! I always use PPE when I am on the job or on my mountain bike, so having this as part of my equipment kit is a no brainer! -J

Pretty cool

I just signed up and it was a breeze. I don’t know anyone yet who has the app, but during my next mountain biking trip I’m going to get my buddies to sign up so we can have peace of mind knowing we can notify others in the event of an accident or if someone gets lost. Even if you don’t have this in your helmet it’s still useful.

Okay, but absolutely over-engineered

The programming of the NFC tag with an iPhone is trivial - once you ignore the app and follow Apple’s instructions: take any phone cover off and place the phone with its top part over the NFC tag to begin the upload (the NFC antenna is next to the cameras, but you almost have to make surface-to-surface contact for the transfer to work). That’s it, you can now uninstall the app! Anything else the app offers is the option to share your and your family’s/friends’ data with the vendor. You also get notified about how many fun things you can do with the app (not your NFC-tagged equipment). It looks like someone figured it might be a shame to let all the juicy user data go to waste for monetization purposes. Absolutely over-engineered.

App crashes on startup 100% of the time.

What else to say? I used the app to upload a profile to a bike helmet. Then I got another helmet a few weeks later and when I tried to open the app to upload my profile to the new helmet, it crashed. And again. And again. Deleted the app and reinstalled. Still crashing. Like others have complained, it was hard to get it to register with the helmet and now with the crashing, it is 100% useless. I regret ever uploading a profile to my helmet because now it can’t be removed or updated.

The app won't pair with my POC helmet

It simply doesn't connect...so there is no way to upload my medical information onto the helmet as advertised.

Yeah, nah.

Way too difficult just to set up. How is someone who finds you supposed to know what app to download or what to do if they have never heard of this. Even if they do, they will likely give up when this thing fails to scan for minutes. Going to stick with the ol' tape the info to the inside of my helmet and carry other important info on me method. This just seems like a data grab considering how poorly it works.

App will not scan any safety helmet

Title says it all. This system is garbage, I hope the helmet works better than the app

Complete marketing gimmick?

Bought a 2022/23 product with TwICEme as a feature. Tried for a couple hours to scan the NFC code with an iPhone 14. No luck. I’m really not sure how this would ever be useful in the real world if it’s so difficult to read the NFC tag in a controlled environment. Never ended up getting it working. Just have a huge ugly icon on my helmet I guess.

After hours of trying… I finally found the spot

Most people would think that using the nfc tag in a mountain bike helmet would be as simple as using your phone to pay at the grocery store. If you are using this app, you’d be wrong. You have to place you phone in the EXACT right spot in order for it to read the nfc tag. I was able to get my medical info uploaded, but good luck if anyone tries to read the tag to access it. This combination of helmet and app would actually probably be a safe spot to store your SSN, credit card info, or anything else you don’t want other people to ever find. (Sarcasm, for those that missed it).I’m not sure if it is the helmet manufacturers fault or the apps fault, but the experience is pathetic none the less.
