DID YOU KNOW?
Current keyboards are based on the 140-year-old mechanical typewriter layout. Typewise is different. It’s the first keyboard that is specifically designed for smartphones. It’s revolutionary yet easy to use, and after a couple of messages you’ll love it.
4X FEWER TYPOS
A recent study with 37,000 participants showed that on current keyboards 1 out of 5 words contains typos. With Typewise you finally get rid of these ARRGGHH-moments. Thanks to the hexagon layout, keys are 70% larger and much easier to hit. It helps you to make four times fewer typos.
AI POWERED KEYBOARD
All your editing needs are now met in one keyboard. It features the ability to translate, proofread, adjust tonality, shorten, extend and create inclusive language with just one click.
INTUITIVE GESTURES
Swipe up to capitalize a letter, swipe left to delete or swipe right to restore. It's as simple as that.
SMART AUTOCORRECT
Stop getting annoyed by wrong autocorrections or senseless predictions. Typewise learns what you type and helps you write that perfect sentence.
100% PRIVACY
What you write is personal. That's why the keyboard does NOT require “full access” and none of your typing data is transmitted to the cloud.
To improve tutorial, game and settings in the app, we rely on basic and anonymous usage tracking, which can be turned off completely using the offline mode feature. The keyboard itself is not tracked at all.

Abysmal Autocorrect is an Obstacle

16thCenturyBro on

I wanted to switch to something besides the base keyboard because it had become an obstacle to typing. This is one of a very few options that respect privacy and don't ask for creepy permissions. I even learned their new keyboard layout. But it's constantly changing dictionary correct words to other dictionary correct words. Goddammit, no one needed AI in their keyboard, just a working dictionary! Which we had ten years ago! Progressing -> Progress in Stitch -> Switch Theoretically -> Theoretical Drastically -> Practically Routines -> Routine s Edit: If you do the free trial of Pro, then cancel, you now get a recurring popup on top of your keyboard saying "Continue using pro!" As if you hadn't made a conscious choice not to do so.

Really wished it wan't so buggy...

Thing keeps freezing. Have to switch to another keyboard for it to unfreeze. Doing it right now while I am typing this.

Such a disappointment on the iPad

I’m not a fan of the hex layout at all, but I wanted a private third-party keyboard. Unfortunately the traditional keyboard layout is unusable. The keys are squished down, resulting in endless typos. Many important punctuation is hidden in up-swipes from the bottom row, but I usually end up accidentally pulling up the taskbar or closing the app I’m in instead. Bums me out because I was so ready to drop $25 on this keyboard if they just had a halfway decent traditional keyboard. Don’t bother unless you’re interested in typing on a honeycomb.

Meets my needs

I've been using Typewise for several years. I find it superior to the default keyboard for my needs. I was having issues with touching the incorrect key when typing. Typewise claimed to learn where on the key I touch thus improving accuracy. I have fewer typos now. It may be due to this feature or what I consider to be a superior spell checker. Another favorite feature is the ability to swipe up on a key to capitalize. It does not break my focus like using a shift key does. I wish something similar was available for numerals! This is one of the very few apps that I am happy to pay for a subscription.

slightly better than base keypad

the predictive word system is not, offering words that are non-grammatical in, and oblivious to, the current context. by paying the fee, words like 'the' are available instead of being tantalizingly greyed out.

Autocorrect is automatically incorrect

I love the hexagon layout. Not gonna lie. It works great and offline mode and local ai is preem. But this app is literally THE TYPO. I would type a sentence and it would try to "fix it" when all the words are the way they need to be changing words into something that makes zero sense. I had to turn off autocorrection because lt simply did FAR more harm than good in my typing. If you guys fix this. I'll happily change my rating. But for now 3 stars.

Got a Dvorak version!

They just updated me that they have a Dvorak version of the hex keyboard! I have since gotten a lifetime subscription and am happily learning the layout now 😁

Great keyboard, well worth paying for the premium

I've been using Typewise for a couple of years now and will never go back to the original iOS keyboard. Pros: The larger keys, the ability to swipe up for capitals or lowercase, backspace by swiping left, and move the cursor from the keyboard are all features I can't live without now. The auto-complete suggestions are fine and I love that you can long press to remove a word from the dictionary! Stability has generally improved over the years I've used this app, with fewer crashes than when I first began using it. In the beginning, accidentally hitting the spacebar was an annoying issue, but a while back, they made it so that you could move the spacebar down to the bottom which helped a LOT. I was going to add something about the spacebar sensitivity still being wonky. I was having to keep it on high to even have those taps register, and that led to accidental spacebar presses, but I just switched it back down to medium and, wow, I guess they fixed it at some point! Minor issues: I did turn off auto-correct due to some bugginess in certain text fields, but the native iOS keyboard has the same issues. The ease of typing on a larger keyboard makes up for any speed you might lose from turning on auto-correct. Trying to swipe up on certain top row letters, like I or Y, can be hit or miss, so I wish there was more clearance between the top row and the auto-complete bar- there's a lot of real estate at the bottom, they could easily move it down a bit.

Great Keyboard

I really like this keyboard, it is well designed and has lots of great features that add to its appeal on top of the hex key design. I have only a few complaints. I like to use the Dvorak keyboard layout, its the only "premium" feature I would use and I find it really hard to pay $24 just for that. keyboard layouts are not difficult to add or maintain, so i'm not sure why they are locked behind a pay wall. at least make it so I can unlock Dvorak for a couple bucks if you have to require payment. The only other problem I have is with the built in Emoji keyboard, its a bit buggy to access sometimes, and even if you can get to it its just a lot worse than the native apple one. Id use this app if I could access Dvorak

Awful auto correct

craazyville on

It tries to auto correct every single word except words I genuinely spell wrong. Abysmal auto correct like made me turn it off. I paid for the full version and feel like it was a terrible mistake
