Thank you Seth.
It’s definitely helped me learn new words and new anagrams. I don’t know why but my iPad version won’t give me definitions. I’d pay for this app, just saying. I love tournament scrabble and I am improving yearly with study. This tool really helps. It’s tricky knowing what the word lists are, the abbreviations are confusing. Updating the app description here in the App Store would be nice — add latest lists and describe what they mean. For instance, the latest NASPA list has two for 2020. The one with the S is for school or students and has more ‘objectionable’ words removed. Thanks for such a handy tool!
Albeit, this App has a couple of drawbacks when compared to Zarf which, to many, was the Gold Standard. However, ULU is more than I could have hoped for and, for our purposes (wife and I), it is exactly what we needed when we go head to head in our Scrabble competitions against each other. Thank you for developing this wonderful App.
Love it but is there any hope this app will ever include definitions?
How soon will the lexicon be updated to the new CSW19?
Zarf died...I cried. Needed comparable program for my iPad. Ulu does the job. Maybe no major bells and whistles (yet?) but at least now I can sit back in my big comfy old recliner and actually (easily) figure out which stems my aging brain has misplaced! Yeah... Seth, you rock!
It’s good but there is room for improvement. I’ve only been using it a few days and there have already been several times when the scrabble app’s “teacher” said there was a better scoring word I should have used - but it wasn’t even included in this app’s word list. And yes, I see that there is an option to add my own lexicon but after doing a google search, I’ve realized that there’s more to it than just searching for a “TWL06” link, and therefore, it is beyond my abilities... In addition to including a scrabble word list, I really wish there was an option to sort the words based on scrabble scores (ie highest scoring word to the least). This is something I used very frequently with the Zarf app, which sadly, has become obsolete due to a lack of updates and it’s inevitable incompatibility to the newer OS’s... basically, if you just copy the Zarf app & keep it updated (which, it never needed due to bugs - just so it’s compatible), u could easily charge an upgrade fee of a $1-2 and make a killing off those who can no longer use Zarf! But that’s just my suggestion...
I downloaded the app but the only lexicon was for WWF not OWL3 for scrabble.
This will be wonderful to have, especially if Zarf dies on iOS 11.
