Unique for iPhone

Just ‘upgraded’ only to find I am working with a postage stamp under AUM. At first I thought it had to be a bug, right? Being impossible to use without a microscope. Then I realised what had happened. I’d bought the iPhone version for use on the iPad. Technically, it still works. But no way will I believe that the developers didn’t know full well what would happen to iPad users with this version. It is sabotage. Deleted. Nic

Now most of the faults have been ironed out, this synth is superb. But, it eats batteries for breakfast, dinner and tea. Also, phone gets warm when using it. If these issues were addressed, it would be king of synths. It makes noises I’ve never heard before.

Don't believe the hype

I'm trying to get in to this app, but it's too slow to navigate at the moment, running on a iPhone 7 plus you'd expect it to complete the task straight away, but there's an awful amount of lag between clicking and action completing. I'd love to explore the capabilities more, but at the moment it's just too slow to use.

Big sounds, and lots of flexibility with the modulation options. A few bugs though - preset menu difficult to use and getting lots of stuck notes. Hopefully these will be fixed in the next update.

This is a very nice synth, with lots of rich, interesting and occasionally surprising/delightful sounds. There are some definite UI problems with navigation of presets (how did this get past QC?), hence 4 stars. For anyone wondering, the iPhone version seems to work perfectly well on an iPad, albeit with a less optimised UI (although the app has the same navigation issues evident on iPhone).

Can’t save new presets. Edit: Saving presets work but can't assign any of the controllers to a parameter because you can't long press any parameter dial. I am on iOS 16.3.1. Still a great sounding synth.

It seems like people think the more complex a synth is the better. That may be true if you’re into endless tweaking for sound design. Been there, done that. Nowadays I just want to make songs without spending a lot of time tweaking. So I choose a preset that sounds good to me, tweak it a little and the next thing I know inspiration strikes. That’s Unique for me. No issues with performance in NS2 either. Sugar Bytes stuff is always good!
