Fun to use!
Such a useful app to have in a trip, especially if you aren’t great at planning ahead. We used it in Florence and it was amazing
This app was extremely helpful for my recent trip to Rome. It gave me great tips on what to do and where to go. Including links to all the best priced tickets! It’s a must have if you like a city holiday!
This is a brilliant app. It recommends places to stay and places to eat. It allows you to compose your own itinerary and shows features on your route. It provides informed commentary on important landmarks. It makes for the perfect city break. Can’t recommend it highly enough.
Easy to use and really helpful
Amazing app
The range of recommendations really stands out on this app - it all felt tailored to my holiday / interests rather than ‘off the shelf’ suggestions. Loved it and hope there will be even more destinations to come. Would have been a totally different holiday without it
I’m always so stuck on what to do when in a new city. It’s so difficult to know where to eat/visit if you are not local but this app is your pocket local with all the insights you’d need! Great restaurant recommendations and things to do, will use on all my city breaks!
It was a hard November day. Rain whipped my face as I dug my shoes deeper into the sand of Barcelona’s beach front. I was contemplating, thinking about how the highly anticipated weekend break had turned into such a humdrum affair. Lost in an unfamiliar place. Out of season, out of luck. The year was 2017. Fast forward a few years and humanity reaches a new epoch. And no, I’m not referring to Covid. Henceforth my life will be defined as BU and AU. Before Urbs and After Urbs. I’m on the same beach, but this time there is fire in my belly and warmth in my heart. I’m surrounded by beautiful women waxing lyrical about the day they had just had. I think back to that morning. We awoke at 8am in the city. A group of friends. Our first day in Barcelona. As the continental breakfast filled our bellies, a sudden realisation dawned on us, punctuated by the the sound of a knife against Spanish ceramic. “What on Earth are we going to do in a city that we don’t know?” A darkness came across our faces. Yet there was light. Light in the form of binary code rolled into computer code rolled into an application rolled into a telecommunication device. A device sitting in my very hands. Urbs. I logged on and with seconds I had the day sorted. We beamed at the specially curated tours bringing us to the cultural landmarks of the city. We cooed at the articulate and well presented information which filled our ear holes and expanded our grey matter. We cheered at the dining and leisure recommendations that flooded our heads with dopamine. And we hurrayed at being directed away from the tourist traps and to the authentic establishments of the city. All of this? For free? And I can contribute by creating my own routes? It can’t be. The beautiful women around me began to tear of my clothing. I was lifted up to heaven in a pure state of ecstasy. The scent of lavender and chocolate filled my nostril. This can’t be, it really can’t… A spray of cold sea whipped my face. A rain droplet splashed against my toes. I look up and check my watch. It reads “7th November 2017”. I dig my toes deeper into the sand. If only, I think. If only….
I use Urbs when I’m wandering around London - it’s been a lovely tool to unlock the history of my home city! I’ll be using it on my summer hols this year
