UVLens - UV Index

I rely so heavily on this app and it has never let me down. There are features that could make it better, and it’s occasionally clunky, but I’ve never been burned since I started using this app a few years ago. This app is often at odds with the Apple Weather app, and, based on personal experience, I’m inclined to believe this app is more insightful.

I’ve used this for years. It helps me get vitamin D without a sunburn. I find it to be reliable for my skin type. It would be great if it could forecast the burn time like it used to, but it’s still of value to me.

I love this app and use it everyday. It's well designed, easy to use, and aesthetically pleasing - which is why I continue to use it over the competitors. I would love if a future update included the ability to add a small widget to my home screen so I could see my burn time at all times! That would be a feature I'd rave about to all of my friends. Thanks for making a useful app that actually does a public service! I appreciate you.

The current UV index is consistently lower than other sources I’ve used, eg the native Weather app, and the app doesn’t disclose the source of its data. There’s a protection forecast based on a customized avatar, but it only works on the current UV index; you can see what the UV index will be later in the day, but you can’t make the protection forecast show how long you’ll be protected based on that future UV index. Lastly, there’s no widget, which, if the data were more accurate, would make checking much more convenient.

UPDATE ***PLEASE DEVELOPERS** PLEASE PLEASE UPDATE THE APP!!! I’m willing to pay up to $2.99 for this app exactly as it is/was! I really need this to be updated. *Original review* I absolutely love this app and have used it daily for many summers. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in tracking the UV index hourly or daily! I’d like to point out to the developers the key things I love the most so they won’t change them. Please keep these important attributes! ❤️Pros: ❤️*No pop-ups when I open the app ❤️*No location services required. I love being able to input my own chosen location. ❤️*All the information is on the first page when I open it. All I have to do is open the app and I can take a quick peek and everything is right there! An app of this sort should not be time consuming. ❤️*The widget. What a great idea! 😡Cons: 😉None that I can think of! 😀👍🏽 SIDE NOTE: I’d like to add that I have no association with this app or app owner. I found this app by doing a search for “UV index” a couple years ago and I’m glad I found it!

I love this app! Visually, it is much simpler and easy to understand compared to other apps available. I am not sure to what extent or how sophisticated the app is in using your personal customization data to determine sunscreen recommendation, but I would still be / am satisfied enough if it’s being informed by the weather itself. It would be incredibly convenient if it the app offered a widget, especially if it were the small square widget and it just mirrored the information that you see on the home screen — the “take care today” times, and the round dial / spectrum. Thanks for this app!

use it for summers to help me take care of my pale skin, people complain about the notifications that came last year but it’s not their fault, it was a freak accident and you shouldn’t rate the app just because of one occurrence when it’s a great app that works perfectly

could y’all make a widget out of this?

Later a follow up notification from the developers saying it was hacked and that they would follow up with an explanation. No such explanation followed after. I had to google and research to see what happened but I deleted the app just to be on the safe side

I love this app but it desperately needs an Apple Watch complication. At the very least update it to support iOS 14 widgets.
