Varlens - DSLR in Phone

This app is totally amazing, I used the free version for probably a little under a year with no problems before I upgraded. I was amazed by how great the free version was after so many others failed. So happy with this and I hope the devs keep updating.

I spent so much time looking for a quality photo app that could do what other video apps do, which is apply filters baked into the image therefore eliminating post processing and making sharing/publishing much faster. Of course you can apply filters in post as well. Also you can import LUTs which should be available on all apps but hardly seen at this moment. This is all free as well. Premium sub gives you nice to haves imo but I would also like to support this team based on the quality you get at the free version. Wish more devs took this approach. Also the cost of premium is not an arm and a leg like other apps that gives you half, if that, upfront for free.

when I use either the no sharpening or the HDR, my photos have a lot of artifacts and other strange things that are very noticeable when I blow photos up on my laptop screen. But, when I turn off the AI, my photos look fantastic. All the artifacts are gone along with too much sharpening other things. This app is absolutely fantastic, but the AI is definitely not good. Turn off the AI and like me, you might also have a great time using this camera app. It is truly amazing. I just hope that the Varlens team can clean up the AI and make it usable. Until then, I will continue to use this camera app without the AI. Utilizing all the other great tools that this amazing group of developers has made. Great job Varlens team. I will never use my iPhone camera app except when I’m using my Apple Watch as a remote. Outside of that, I always prefer my Varlens app. Now, if the amazing varlens team can create a camera app for the Apple Watch, I will be the happiest person on earth.

Was working great and now photo freezes when on IOS 18.0.1

Update in response to developer: Still no LIVE photos in 24 megapixels. ProRes is capped at 1080p and not 4K and still there’s no LOG either. I will update the review once these issues are addressed. Original review: Please update the app to match what the iPhone 15 Pro Max can shoot in the native iOS camera app. Live Photos in the native iOS camera app shoots at 24MP (in Varlens it’s only 12MP when shooting with Live Photos), and please update it so it can also record Apple ProRes LOG video as well!

Trying out the features but something really bugs me about the shutter sound(s): I can’t seem to turn it off. Really, really irritating in many situations photographing I want to be silent when I take a picture. It’s also really loud!

I have been trying to cancel this subscription for months now. I enjoyed the Pro version until it booted me out and then kept prompting me to pay for Pro in the app, even though I already had. Now it’s disappeared from my paid apps in my Apple account and when I click “manage my subscription” below, it says it cannot load. I tried redownloading the app and clicking restore purchase, and there’s a little circle that appears like it’s doing something but then it disappears and nothing changes. The steps I followed led me nowhere and I received no support from Apple or Varlens when I reached out - Varlens only told me to do what I’d already done. I DO NOT WANT TO RENEW THIS SUBSCRIPTION. I haven’t even been able to use what I purchased for over 9 months now. Can someone PLEASE help me this time so that this subscription is canceled in time and I am not charged for something I haven’t been able to use in months?

I’ve enjoyed the camera and even purchased the pro subscription. Under my app subscriptions it shows that it’s active but in the camera app it is requesting that I purchase the pro subscription even though I already have. Attempted to reach out to support but have not yet heard back.
