There have been multiple times someone will tell me they have given their dog something to eat that I think maybe harmful. I check this app, tell the friend what it says about the food choice & recommend that they download the app. I have used it with my own pets many times when they are begging for a piece of the fruit I am eating. I find out what’s good for them & how much they can have. Highly recommend this app. There is nothing else that compares.

This app is very handy but the writing that tells the side effects or directions on what to do if the animal has eaten the substance is white on a translucent white background - barely noticeable, let alone readable. I’ll gladly update my rating if a change is made to fix that. People are going to the app for advice and may already be really stressed about their pet getting into food or medication - they want to get either guidance or reassurance fast and not be struggling to read what the app has to say.

I love this app, it’s extremely useful and I’m so thankful it exists! I’m constantly using it to make sure I can share a bite of my food with my dog. It’s reassuring to know a vet is behind this app and Dr. D is great about responding to requests or additions.

I keep trying to tap the button at the bottom of the app that lets you request something that isn’t on the list and it doesn’t do anything when I tap it. Frustrating.

My dog eats weird, unexpected things frequently. I can do my best to dog proof my house but he finds a way sometimes. Other times he finds something outside during our walks and with speed of light reflexes, I’m too late as he tries to evade me so he can eat his disgusting find. This app has saved me from spending hours anxiously googling various things my dog eats and the dread of going to the emergency vet all for them to say he’s fine as they take $200 just to look at him. The best part is when the app doesn’t have the weird thing your dog ate, you just email them and they respond back ASAP and put it in the app. Highly recommend for pet parents with determined and mischievous pets. The only thing that would make the app even better is if the app had a weight/toxin calculator to help you determine if it’s a wait and see situation or a better run to the emergency vet.

I am recommending this app to all of my clients and pet owning friends and am advising them to pass it on. I will be using it myself. I hope you make a zillion dollars off this app. You deserve it for all your hard work on this. Janet L. Dunn, D.V.M.

A long list of food and substance items a canine or feline could ingest. Simple, concise and fast to use! Great idea!!

I think most good pet owners are aware of the top good and bad items to give their animals, but this is a really quick and easy way to know if some of the lesser known items are okay to give them. I own three Brittany’s and I love giving them snacks of various fruits. Now I don’t have to go searching all over the web to find the answer. I agree with the other review that at $3.99 it seems a bit steep, but when I look at the cost of giving something harmful to my dog and the associated vet bill, it’s certainly a LOT less expensive. Not to mention being potentially lethal.

As a veterinarian, I think this is an excellent app for pet owners. Price is very fair!

This information is very useful in my opinion. I have a bit of common sense about what to and not to give my dog but this is just good to have. She begs A LOT and I am weak when it comes to my Grace. At least with this I can know when its okay to be weak and when I should stay firm. The downside: I do think $3.99 is a bit much for the app. The format could be better. In the information for chocolate... some of the words disappear off the screen and there is no way to scroll. I also think that there could be a bit more information for some of the options. Also, I think it’d be great to see some additional animals in the future.
