Viking Synth

Title says it all really. Love the user interface.

It’s fantastic to see another synth option for iOS, seeing the lack of synth apps on the App Store right now, this synth has great options, sounds great, and very versatile.

These Audio Unit (AUv3) plug-in Apps from Blamsoft are just terrific! Whilst the majority of them are to do with effects & sound processing/filtering etc. this one is a VERY different proposition, because it is a Synth plug-in. As the App description states, it works very well within both Apple's GarageBand & the equally awesome AUM by Kymatica (Jonatan Liljedahl) where it can be used as an instrument, which then can have effects applied to it by various means e.g by Audiobus, IAA (Inter-App Audio), or even some of Blamsoft's aforementioned great offerings! Using this in GarageBand version 2.3.15 on my iPad Pro iOS 17.1.2 This app is frustrating because it sounds awesome and the presets are amazing, but for some reason the presets only show up maybe 10% of the time I start a new track. The other 90% of the time it just says “default” or “preset” but when I click on it there’s just an empty window where the preset library should be. Sometimes the presets will work on a track but when I click back in to choose a new one they mysteriously disappear. It’s too bad because I really want to use this app but the inconsistency of the preset library is making it untenable for use. Devs do you have any advice? I’ve deleted and reinstalled, powered on and off: still having the same issue.

Kudos would love to see something new I definitely would support!

It ain’t pretty, but it’s functional.

Holy crap, loaded this up in AUM and was not expecting to be blown away with a holy grail of bass goodness. This should be on the top bass synths. Hidden gem for sure, There are so many presets it will blow your mind and some are giving my mood Minotaur vibes. Negative reviews seems to be from folks looking for a standalone synth which this is not. You need AUM or midibus.

This synth is can generate gnarly bass tones. It’s my starter bass in my AUM projects right now. It can do acid tones, but more laid back stiff, too. It has a versatile filter section that sounds great. It’s versatile without being cumbersome. Generally, it’s straightforward and easy to use. AND, every parameter can be automated via MIDI. Pair this with some LFO’s to add some tonal variations and “spice” on repetitive basslines.

Nice sounding, simple synth. (By the way, it shows up and works fine in Garage Band on my iPad).

Can’t access presets in BM3. Useless app.
