"This is, without a doubt, the best OTR app available in the store. To say the selection is huge does not adequately describe the sheer number of shows and episodes available." ifitsfreeitsforme
"I've been a fan of OTR for nearly 40 years and I am astonished by the sheer multitude of shows available. I am also surprised at the great overall sound quality of the programs. I went ahead and signed up for the monthly subscription which is only $1.99/mo. What a bargain!" Dachshund Heaven
"This is a Great App! The developer answered me right away when I had a problem. It takes hard work to invent an app for Apple customers. It is especially good to know that a nice person was behind the development; and was there to help me. Enjoy" zzzzzzzxxx
"This is absolutely the best app ever. Apple needs to get on the ball and promote this. I can't get enough. Dropped my satellite radio because vintage radio shows were all I listened too." tatorchip33
"I have had this for a long time and just love it. I can listen to an old time radio show anytime, anywhere. Thousands of choices in all genres. I am currently listening to Phillip Marlowe. I can't say enough good things about this app. Just wonderful!!!" PuffyClementine
"Seemingly endless quality shows. Many are rare but very worthy. My favorite ATM is the mystery "Box 13" starring Alan Ladd. Listen to shows to go to sleep. So many different ones. It's amazing." Jen303

Great app but a few bugs
I’ve been using this app for several years now and love the content. I purchase the annual subscription and love the quality of shows. My only complaints are technical ones.
When I’m in my car connected to my Bluetooth stereo and have to pause to take a call the app crashes or goes back to the Home Screen. Same thing happens when I switch from one Bluetooth device to another.
Lately, I’ve been having trouble with my subscription. I keep getting error messages that my subscription has expired (I still have 4 months left). Restarting the app works occasionally, but not the last couple days. I put a trouble ticket into the Apple Store so hopefully I’ll get a fix soon.
Wonderful App!
I’ve had this app for over 10 years and now that I’m old and raggedy - but still working full time - I love listening to to radio shows that were on the air when I was a kid and our one family TV was a 19” black and white.
Over the years I’ve run into a few episodes where the files were corrupted, but just let the owner know and he fixes the problem. Lovely!
These old shows actually let your imagination go to work! Think of it!
Get this app for a whole new spice to be added to your life.
Vintage Radio App
I downloaded the App a few days ago and it is exactly what I was looking for. I have already downloaded several shows. I would recommend this app.
Good, could use updating, and dates seem to be wrong
I like the app, it's nice to pull up shows easily on the phone what with archive.org not really having a good way to get at it. But I wonder if there have been more shows that could be added to this database. Also, is it me, or are the air dates one day off the actual date? I noticed that when looking up some Fibber McGee, Jack Benny, and Our Miss Brooks shows. As Benny said on his first radio program, there will be a slight pause while you say, who cares. ... but it is a bit odd, since all of this is in the public domain i thought? I could be wrong. But overall, it's nice to get easy access, as I said.
Show stopped
I just listened to the Lum and Abner Christmas episode and it cuts off once they arrived at the barn. Surely that’s not how it ends.
Love this app
I love this app. The show are fantastic and entertaining. I listen to this app everyday, while I am at work or in the car. If you love listening to old radio shows this is the app for you.
A Ways to Go Yet
Don’t get me wrong; this app is definitely worth the download! I’m even contemplating subscribing in this cash strapped world. I was very pleased with many of the WWII, news broadcast, and the commercials being left in (it really makes you feel you’re living in the era!) However I was quite disappointed to find two of my favorite shows, The Halls of Ivy and The Dennis Day Show, are not featured. How can this be?! Plus not all shows are available even if you subscribe. There are 175 episodes of Dr. Christian that have been recovered but Vintage Radio only offers 69 of those shows. Vintage Radio definitely needs to access Archieve.org (not their app Wayback Machine; it’s pitiful) and complete the shows that are available. Hopefully they’ll read this and they will. Meanwhile I’ll be pleased with the abundance that they do have to offer; which in all honesty is a lot (it’s just not all that’s out there) and give a Thank You and 4 stars.
Changing the Time Increment
This app has brought me several hundreds of hours of pleasure. The only thing I would suggest is for us to have the ability to set the time increment. It would be great if I could fast forward or rewind by 10 or 15 seconds instead of 30, and to have the option to change that setting as we do with the native Apple podcast app. Thanks so much for all you do!
Good but missing a lot
There are many shows with only a fraction of the episodes that are currently available. It doesn’t have a lot of newer show (even stuff like CBC edition of Nero Wolfe) or larger show like Harry Nile or Jim French’s Sherlock Holmes. There are also quite a few older shows not included. As far as use this is the best out there but there is so much more it could have. Most of is would pay$5 a month if it had more. Also played shows could be marked a little better. The small circles can be deceiving if you don’t store all the downloads.
Best OTR player is worst for updates
Every few months I am a paying monthly subscriber, until I quit because the player play controls don’t work outside the app itself, and little to no updates except what’s needed to keep the app working in the OS. There is not a single app for OTR that is well supported and therefore little to nothing to encourage competition that would force developers to work.
One of the best OTR players but the worst for updates. The player controls are strange so they do not work on anything else like an Apple Watch. And at the end of some tracks a loud annoying reminder comes on to tell you what you already know, that your listening via this vintage radio app.
