Virgin Trains Ticketing App

Great that I can collect points just for booking my Regular work travel anyway!!! To get a 5 star I would just love an “add to calendar” option like train line offers… so my train times can be put straight into the iPhone calander instead of my having to manually add to my diary! Thanks

Pretty good, my only nag is the journey tracker should be at the forefront of the app and automatically load up my current booking and refresh, a bit like trainline.

1) please can the app remember my travel card so I don’t have to add it each time 2) please can it the tickets be added to Apple Pay with more ease , I.e. in bulk for a split save return rather than 4 adds Thank you Other than that a nice design

Really good app, so easy to use, however e-tickets are hardly ever available on the cheapest tickets through this app, and that makes this app very hard to recommend. No point spending more money to use it.

this is the worst train app. As a regular traveller in many countries and thus, train user in many of these countries. This is the worst ticketing app you could get, despite its low level of being anywhere near user friendly, it’s processed are completely outdated. I had rebooked a new train within a matter of minutes and have been messed around by arrogant, ignorant and rude staff who can’t be bothered to do their job in trying to pursue a simple refund. Their ticketing conditions are different than those of the train companies they provide tickets for which makes it both worse as they’re much more stricter but also the difference makes it hard to keep track

I purchased a ticket from this app and no ticket was sent after purchase neither on app nor on email. I rang the help desk for a refund and they asked me to go through email and “they are just a help desk “. Absolutely ridiculous service and this whole app seems like a SCAM. Never expected this from a brand like Virgin. Shame on you.

Occasionally use the Virgin Train Ticketing app because you get points (56 days after ticket expiry) that may be useful in the future. However, the app is awful. It’s not nearly on par with its being rival. Every time I load it the search details are reset. I’m almost always travelling from the same station and so having to go and put it in, and the destination is a pain. Also the fact it resets the type of ticket I usually purchase (open return) and removes my railcard resulting in each search being much harder than other apps. The biggest annoyance that takes me to a different app is that often it says eTickets are not available on this route and the tickets must be collected. I move my search to a competing app and within seconds the tickets are in my Apple Wallet. Lots of development work required at this stage.

Tried yesterday and today to book a train ticket. App says “check your network connection and try again”. News flash. I am connected to the internet on a full fibre line. Seems like the developers don’t care any more.

Doesn’t work on ipad

I like the app and the fact it connects to my Virgin Red rewards. The app has some great features including favourites and now has split ticketing. For me, it would be great when there is a split ticket I can add ‘All’ tickets to my wallet rather than one at a time.
