The app is great; the algorithm put in place to repeat words until you get a grasp of them is brilliant. Problem is, some of the definitions that you’ll learn aren’t necessarily what you’ll find in a Webster’s Dictionary, which is kind of bizarre. I get it that they’re trying to keep the definitions to a minimal amount of words to help with memory, but many of the definitions seem to be just too short and vague. Then there are some definitions that seem to be a little off... For example, in the app the word “circuitous” is a noun, and defined simply as “roundabout,” meaning literally a roundabout that you’d drive through. Circuitous can include a roundabout in certain contexts, but it is used mostly as an adjective, and more specifically it means “having a circular or winding course.” Put into a sentence, you could use it as “we took a circuitous route to grandma’s house.” It can also mean “not being forthright or direct in language or action.” Not a huge deal, but it makes me wonder what other words on the app are a little off. But either way, it’s a great app. I haven’t found another that’s anything like it!
Free app, but to see anything or use it, you have to pay to unlock the decks. Sooo misleading.
Great supplement for your English studies!
Trust me 100% worth a try. Read the science behind it
This will stretch and grow your verbal awareness
Just wish it were a simple yes or no to repeat the word again instead of a rating.
I’m learning more words right away
Somehow it doesn’t seem to be the same as what is shown in the App Store
I enjoy using this app and found it so useful that I bought the full version. definitely worth it imo. a few suggested improvements: - allow audio playback of each word (adds another dimension for learning ) - when listing synonyms of words, use words learned from the other vocab sets already in the app (repetition/ review learning) - add antonyms for words (another way to help learning)
