At times I just cannot log in via app, despite resetting the password on the site. If I try to use the passwords saved, it always crashes. At the moment I uninstalled and can’t even download the app!

I love the app as I live the website. It’s hands down the best way to improve your vocabulary range and practice new vocab imo. The app freezes sometimes though, so a fix to make it more stable would be nice. Also, i wish I could turn off the volume when it comes to typing a word. I‘d prefer to not hear it, so I have to figure out which word is correct in these contexts. I just feel like that would really prove i‘ve mastered a word. Thus 4 stars

My favorite mono-lingual dictionary! I just love it. It's very fast, the definitions are fun to read and the whole experience is just great. But there is one thing I am missing: Notifications on the iPhone. It would be awesome if the app sends notifications as an reminder to study. Just like the "Your question of the week" e-mail, a notification could pop up in the morning or on random times during the day.

The programm itself isn't bad but it's a shame that it doesn't work offline. It's just a bloody browser and I'd rather create a shortcut for vocabulary. com then pay money for the app. It isn't worth it.

Ich wollte eine App, mit der ich meine eignen (z.b. sehr physikbezogene) Vokabeln lernen / üben kann. Dies ist nur bedingt möglich, das das Üben nur mit Vokabeln funktioniert, die vom Contentprovider vorbereitet wurden. Zwar findet man über die Suche so ziemlich alle Wörter jedoch können eben nicht alle zur eigenen Liste hinzugefügt werden - somit ist diese App für mich nicht wirklich zu gebrauchen (allerdings habe ich auch noch keine andere App gefunden, die das kann). Die Rechtschreibung ist nicht zu üben, da Vokabeln lediglich geübt / gelernt werden, indem man eine Vorgabe erhält und aus vier Antwortmöglichkeiten auswählt (eine Art Multiple Choice). Weiteres Minus - man muss sich einloggen und das Üben ist NUR möglich, wenn man online ist. D.h. im Flieger die Zeit nutzen und lernen —> nicht möglich. Auf meine Anfrage hin antwortete der Support in eine Standardmail, dass man meine Anregung zum Offline-lernen sicher mal berücksichtigen wird —> sprich: kein wirkliches Interesse. Großes Plus: Das Wörterbuch mit den Erklärungen und Beispielen ist wirklich sehr gut - ich verwende daher die App nicht zum Lernen jedoch gerne zum Nachschlagen - allerdings ist das online auf deren Website auch kostenlos und ohne Registrierung möglich - daher kann mann sich die paar Euro für die App auch sparen, das diese letztendlich nur eine Art Browser ist.

Ich bin begeistert von dieser App! Die Informationen zu den Wörtern sind witzig und dadurch leicht zu merken. Wer seinen Wortschatz spielerisch erweitern möchte, sollte sich die App unbedingt zulegen!

I really like the design of having the queried words in uppercase, the font, and the easy-to-understand word definitions. It’s incredibly convenient for someone learning English. This is truly the best dictionary app I've used so far. Two areas need improvement: 1. When I want to add a word to my learning list, it seems I have to wait for the ‘start learning this word’ option to pop up, and there’s no indication of when this will happen. I have to keep waiting on the page. I hope there will be a button to easily add a word. 2. The pronunciation playback is very slow, taking about 4-5 seconds each time before the sound is heard.

i have been using vocab.com since 2014, so i’m a 10-year user. what started out as a requirement for school turned into a passion, which was consuming vocabulary at a voracity like no other. the app makes it feel like a game instead of a chore, but still, you have to like learning vocabulary to like this app. the app interface is well-designed; i have not experienced any lags or buffering (although i have not used the app without internet yet, so this may change). the only thing i would say is that when i am learning a list, i want to learn only the words on THAT particular list — not other “filler” words, too. the app loves to sprinkle those in. anyways, this is an easy way to learn new vocabulary words through the use of repetition. great app and great company!
