I love this app for streaming lossless subscription service. I have only used related features, I don’t have a large collection of music on hard drives, so do not have any experience with that.
It does freeze and is sometimes really slow, but the features are great and - i often share a stream to multiple pi- sourced stereos around my house for background music, which is a great feature. It sometimes needs a reboot to get the pi’s to share, so I’m hoping there are improvements in the pipeline.
I also assume that all my problems with the system are on the pi side, not iOS. All in all, this system is worth the hassles, and hopefully it’ll continue to improve.
Former Volumio user on Raspberry Pi
Been using Volumio on two pi’s for three years. The “hotspot” idea is a poor one. Burned image of latest Volumio and put in one of them. Can’t find it on network so tried to use this app for hotspot access. Can’t access the pi so I could configure via hotspot. Abandoned Volumio and moved to the other image shown in the Raspberry pi imager.
No local network iPhone SE third generation
This app does not offer local network connection after downloading to my iPhone SE third generation. The same app and version works on my old phone which is an iPhone 6s. The same app works on my brothers iPhone eight with the same iOS that I am running, which is the most recent. I have deleted the app numerous times download it again. However, when starting the app, it does not ask to allow access to local network, and under privacy settings, does not show it as well.
Good app
Does exactly what it is intended to do. Thanks!
Buggy - Don’t buy
This platform is far too buggy and user-unfriendly to invest in. I’m running a Raspberry Pi and this app. It only reads a portion of the music on my DLNA (Plex) server. All of my music is in fully compatible formats. The app is very buggy itself with illogical navigation.
Handy interface to Volumio
Very useful interface to find, and control Volumio to select inputs and control volume.
On the downside it has a confusing user interface where you never know how to find the feature you are looking for. It should be redesigned and re-implemented.
So far so good
Great app, keep up the good work. Thanks
Raspberry Pi
This app controls my raspberry pi really well. The Volumio os streaming Qobuz sounds great.
Latest update broke app
App was working fine until yesterday. Now I get looking for devices and it won’t connect to either of my pi’s. Can connect through web browser and it still works with airplay and Spotify, app is totally useless.
Just freezes
All this app seems to do is freeze. Which is nice because it completely wasted the money spent on hardware.. really wished I’d read reviews on this useless app instead of all the YouTube people talking about how awesome it is to have a super cheap music streamer. To be clear, I’m sure the steamer/hardware works fine…however the CONTROLLER which is this app barely works if it does at all making the entire project waste of time.
