Vox - Text to Speech Reader

At first it seemed really good and perfect. But when I chose my voice, pasted my writing in, you know what it said? PAY A SUBSCRIPTION? I haven’t even used the voice yet. I’m sorry if I’m being rude and I apologize if I am but why? I appreciate the effort into the app but please just make the ones you have free and add some other ones to make purchase needed. So I had a problem with it not updating but deleting and reinstalling appears to have taken care of the problem. Possibly could have been I had a version on my phone that was I had tried originally but wasn’t linked to the account. Deleted that as well. Just got it like half hour ago but I’m impressed already. Okay now I’ve had it for a couple of weeks and done three projects with it, each with a different voice. The clarity and deliver are professional. Not sure what an actor charges for voice over work but I’m sure it isn’t cheap. I am a studio musician and getting a nice clear recording minus breath, pops, clicks etc. isn’t easy. Plus you can’t stutter, mess up a line, without endless retakes which I can guarantee happens even in Hollywood. Try doing a voice over yourself and if you can do as good as this app then I guess you don’t need it. I however can’t speak with multiple accents, voices, tenors, and tones so I will continue using it. Thanks Developers!

This app truncate the text terribly and is very expensive as opposed to other tts apps. There are plenty of better options out there

I have nothing to say yet. I’ve only been able to hear one voice speak the words I’ve written and now it already is asking me to pay a premium subscription before I test further if this is something I want to purchase. Not a good start so far. But if after I leave this review I can test a few more voices with the text I input then I may be able to change my review. As of right now, I don’t have enough to go off of with the product to be convinced that this is the right App for me and meets my wants, needs and expectations of what I will receive once I pay. UPDATED: I was able to try the voice I wanted to use one last time but not with enough speech to get an idea of how I can, if at all, alter the rhythm and speed and tone of the voice. I don’t know if I can do any of that which I need to be able to do in order to make the voice sound more to my liking versus a standard setting the app has created. The cost is also too high for an app that has only 19 reviews currently. There is no free trial that I can find. Maybe their product is as good as they are trying to get you to spend money on, however, they fall short of really showing what they have to offer that other apps don’t and this is a large reason why their user base won’t grow very much and their business strategy currently is monetization before customer satisfaction which is not a sign of a good product.

Before I delete this app because I can’t seem to use it unless I rate it. I figure sure, let’s give’em a 1 star rating for being annoying.

It’s super useful for generating different types of voices from text.
